Exactly. I meant shortening the tailpipes so the turndowns are back and almost flush with the edge of the bumper.
One other thing to consider is the further under the car they are the louder it will be inside the car.



My original to the car single exhaust was concealed under the bumper and I had the duals cut the same way. IMO, our cars were more of a luxury purchase when new and the "hot rod" look of exposed tips doesn't suit them very well.
My GTO, however is a Muscle Car and one of the must haves for a Muscle Car are exposed exhaust tips. Mine has the factory splitters exiting behind the rear tires.
