Been a rough couple months with craziness at work, car accidents and a plane crash thrown in for good measure.

Well we figured winter wasn’t going to last forever so we’d better make the most of it’s dying last gasp and took a road trip.

My soda pop bottle overflow finally bit the dust and the last time we took jumbo out for a run we could smell coolant. I remedied that with a universal catch for the coolant. Changed the oil too just for good measure.

We headed out to the PCH and on up to Santa Barbara. The temps dropped a bit when the sun went down behind the Channel Islands but we soldiered on top down to our destination.

The boss is no fan of camping but she picked this place. It was nice peaceful & quiet and we didn’t do a dang thing all weekend but eat good food & drink a bit and some of us even read car magazines.

It was cozy but not cramped and completely modern inside, even had a big screen but we never turned it on. Cool thing was even though it was right smack in the middle of Santa Barbara it felt like we were on Gilligan’s Island.

Lots of old cars were squirreled away everywhere and walking to the great places to eat made for some good sightseeing (car wise anyways).

Most everywhere was dog friendly so that made it real easy.

The boss enjoyed watching the interesting folks going in and out of the establishment next door. Guess I’ll never get used to that.

No campfires in town ( they’re still freaked out about fire) so I brought my own electric one. Didn’t make s’mores so had to make do w gas station snacks & alcohol Lol!!!

Milked our the last bit of fun by stopping in Summerland. A hidden gem off the PCH outside of Santa Barbara. If you blink you miss it.

To the bat mobile!!! Took the B roads along the PCH for a more laid back pace. Really wasn’t necessary with the stuperbowl going on nobody was on the road but us.

Home sweet home. Couple hundred miles of harsh winter driving.

Fantastic! I think I know that Ford pickup....part of a long thread by Randy H (TimeWarpF100) over on Garage Journal.Up to 5842 posts covering many Fords.

That looked like a great weekend and those comfy Imp seats had to make it all that much better!:)

I love the Air Stream Park. Did you rent one there or park yours there.
It’s a rental place. Park n play like cbarge said. After the boss’s plane almost took her out in Houston I figured she could use a break. Nice when we can look magnanimous (and take our C bodies) and do something nice for the better half.

Unless your retired..... My weekend starts Thursday morning and goes to Tuesday evening. Sat & Sun are the worse. Can't get anything done.
:poke:

It looks like you made the most of yours though. I love the air stream camp ground.

It apprears to be an AutoCamp place where you can rent Airstream trailers and free wifi and bicycle rentals included.
very cool! I have to add this place to my bucket list!
Looks like this franschise does other locations too!

It was pretty cool. Everyone there was pretty normal and the fun part was having Jumbo there as a conversation starter. You park right in your spot so your ride is protected and you can keep an eye on it. It’s less expensive during the week but this getaway was kind of a 911 so I bit the bullet and paid the extra fifty bucks. Money well spent. If you guys get a chance go n give it a shot. Alex said they just opened one in Massachusetts so you east coasters are in on the fun now too.
