Boston circa 1906. "Atlantic Avenue elevated at Hotel Essex (Terminal Hotel)." Completed in 1900, now the Plymouth Rock Building.

The Thunderbird Motel in Bloomington MN, right next to Met Stadium and Met Center. Never made it to the stadium, but I saw some North Star hockey and my first concert, Steve Miller with Lou Gramm as the opener, at the Met Center.

Long gone, but did survive long enough to see the Mall of America take the place of the former Met buildings. Torn down in late 2016.

Greta idea for a thread, @67newport

Rather than mix unrelated photos, no matter how good, might it be possible for you to post batches that are related -- say, mid-century, Tudor, neons, etc?

Another hotel I saw a lot of in my youth.

The Hopkins House

Some images of its early years.

I went to youth group one year when my church was remodeling, it looked like this, with the larger addition, 171 total rooms. This was taken during the demolition of the original smaller hotel, which proceeded the rest of the structure, to make way for improving the nearby intersection.
