Then I popped the caps off and put on a set from a ‘69. The ‘69s are actually from the Newport 4dr ht my Dad bought new, so they’re special. My wife kids me about not letting anything go but somehow even though the car is long gone, I kept the caps all these years. After switching them, I drove her around a bit, but headed home because it’s looking like rain (again). Took some pics before the drops started to fall. I wanted to post on the virtual car show thread, but it rained all day Saturday. Couldn’t do it Sunday because we drove to my daughter’s house in the people’s republic of Illinois to do a drive by happy birthday for my grandson. So I’m posting some pics here.
That is one sexy car you got there, the black and red combo is a favorite of mine.

I blasted some parts of my heater box during lunch. Tomorrow I'll probably spray some paint. When I bring it home I'll partially put it back together. It should be the same box that is in my car. I just cannot remember what its out of. I've been hauling it around for more than 20 years.

Put some paint on the heater box parts. One more touch up coat and I think I'll be taking the parts home. After I get the car back together and down off the stands then I'll get after the evaporator core replacement.

Pulled the Water Fall grill off for access, which bring to a question. Should the area on top be Body color or Black as it is now?

Also! Not pictured, I replaced all the steering linkage components, tie rods- pitman and idler.. Will do ball joints later this week.
I think it should be black.

Drove mine to storage to pick up a hoist for the truck. Wouldn't have done this with the Charger.

Since we are in the hauling mode, I took a quick trip to Ace to get some mulch.
10 bags (2cuft) fit nicely. 400 -500 lbs did sink the rear a little. I might have fit 12, but didn’t want to push it.

Fired up the wagon for the first time since the fall.

Spun it over for a few seconds after stroking the pedal once to set the automatic choke and nothing. Pumped the gas 3 or 4 times, spun a few seconds more and Vrooom.

Once again E10 Regular gas has failed to melt the fuel system into a blob...

Took wagon for as short shakedown drive after sitting all winter. I pumped the gas twice fired right up. The recored radiator I had done in late October worked great never got above 160 degress.

I needed access to the back of the garage to get the containers of Canyas I had stored from last year going to plant them to get a early start so they grow taller this year than last. Been planting the same bulbs for the last 7-8 years started with 1 container now have 4 1/2 Rubbermaid containers.

Hopefully the current stay at home restriction for our area of PA is the next to end(may 15th) and we can get out and enjoy the wagon for short drives through the back roads and places to eat start opening and can enjoy the weather. Some local car cruises are scheduled to open later in May hope that happens.
