What did you do to your C-body today....

Decided it was time to undercoat the front wheel wells as I was starting to see a couple rock chips.
Used my new roller jack on their lift, cleaned and scuffed. And then tape, tape, tape.
Once it is dry I will mix up some color so it matches again.

Took delivery of another Monaco 500! Thanks go to @boostedvan for the hook up, that's two cars now. I think this one may find its way on the road, it is very solid!

I took the dive today and corrected my fine scratches on my windshield. My trip to Big Daddy's Don Garlits car show in Nov showed just how far gone the scratches were. Mostly in the wiper contact area. What's needed is 2-4 oz of Cerium Power, A cloth micro fiber 6" disk, Random Orbital Buffer , 50 ft roll of painter plastic drop cloth, 2.5"roll of standard masking tape and a spray bottle w/ water. Patience is the key. The pits remain, but the scratches are gone gone gone.

I always wondered how to get those damn scratches out of my windshield.. appreciate the tutorial.
 
Since the weather was finally nice enough to stay outside for more than 10 minutes, I decided to do a little housekeeping under the hood. Dropped off some other knickknacks to the blaster for powder coating. Should have those back by next week. I’ll clean the stub frame down and give it a good cleaning and paint, degreaser front of the motor, replace the water pump and give it a beautiful coat of that Chrysler corporate blue. I intend on dropping the radiator off and getting it dipped in cord just for good measure, the car never had an over heating issue, just wanna have it done since I have easy access to everything, why not.

PS: i’d like to pull off the bottom pulleys for Powder Coating as well, anything I should know or be worried about before pulling them off? I know there’s three bolts that hold the pulleys the balancer as well as the main center bolt. Any suggestions or recommendations is appreciated.
 
Since it was around 45 degrees and I wanted the lift to change the oil in my daughters car, I decided to go on a quick drive. Roads are dry and out of town not much use of salt. The rebuilt carburetor from @Dana (woodruff) works great.
One spin in the daylight and one after dark before putting it away again.

Snow melting. My two goldies are waking up for the early Spring. Hopefully, alot more road time with these two and Tina Patina in 2021.

My restored Dash finally came in from Instrument Specialties. I’m trying to find a before picture, I’ll post when I find it.. but here’s what it looks like now. They do absolutely amazing work. I’ll have to say it’s a little pricey just in case you’re thinking about it. But it looks spectacular. It wasn’t a basket case to begin with, but it was showing 40+ years of typical age. The pictures don’t do it justice. I’m very very happy.

Picked up all my trinkets from the powder coater yesterday. Very very pleased with the results and excited to get them put on. But still have to do a little housekeeping under the hood on the motor to get it cleaned up and painted that Chrysler corporate blue. Also sent the radiator out on Thursday to get it boiled and cleaned. Nothing was wrong with it, I just thought while I had easy access to it I didn’t wanna have to mess with it again. I got to say! this Powder Coat thing is addictive. LOL.. wish I could send the whole car in to get powder coated.

The engine of my Sport Fury needed TLC, that's what I knew as I bought her. One bolt of the exhaust manifold was broken, the valve oil seals were toast and the engine full of hard oil sludge. A new timing chain was also on the list.
One thing I never saw before, was a hole in the valley pan.

The car is with a friend who is a car mechanic. I want to keep the costs as low as possible for myself, so we left the engine in and only removed the heads.
My job on the project is mainly cleaning the parts. I don't want a new color because I don't need a show and shine car and the hoods are usually closed at German car shows;)

As a reminder, it shouldn't be a show car ...

The top end looks kind of scary to me. Especially with a hole in the windage tray, there’s no telling what’s in the bottom pan. If it were me I just would’ve pulled it at that that point and done a thorough cleaning and a complete re-gasket. Keep us posted though, I’m very curious as to how it runs when you get it back together.

The oil pan was dismantled here in Germany by Carsten and his friend. Fortunately, they did not find any metal chips, only the remains of the valve stem seals. Therefore, the plan is to run the engine for a short time with a slightly thinner oil and additiv without any load in order to get the remains of the oil sludge out. Then a new oil filter and correct oil comes in.

Well that tells more of the story knowing that the lower end was at least looked at and assessed. as mentioned, keep us posted. Still curious..
