What Do You Like/Or Dislike About Carlisle?

Background checks not being done?

Hire better people!
Hire the best people, pay and treat them well, make it clear from the beginning that a certain workplace culture is going to be enforced and enforce it firmly and fairly... or only treat/pay the smallest percentage possible, hire what you can get for sub-competitive wages and make sure they have to go through lots of rank and file offices to get to the decision makers if they do come.

The second way gives the brass a much better bonus at the end of the quarter/year. So long as their "human shield" holds up, they're happy.

At my workplace, the cost/benefit evaluations have led to very high security printers and copiers vs anything that would actually secure areas in case of any kind of attack. They did add electronic locks to the tempered glass doors though :realcrazy:, it has been a few years since anyone tossed a spark plug through a pane of glass... so I suppose they're secure.

My least favorite thing about Carlisle (for Doug) is the azzoles who feel the need to do burnouts or race their scooters after dark. Fortunately, Carlisle doesn't think much of that either and does a fair job of chasing them down and removing them.

If there was a nice 24 hour bar/grocery/coffee shop on premises, I'd never have a reason to leave. OK that's not entirely true, I always forget something and need at least one Wally World trip during my week...

Another +/- depending on your viewpoint, there is no wifi to speak of. So awake and bored at 4am means it's time to make the Wally World run and Sheetz for coffee (never gas)... at daylight you can skulk about and find a few folks moving, but the fun people are still asleep. Sometimes I get too bored and wake up John, but I bring pastries so I don't get beaten for it. When I'm better adjusted to the world's hours of operation, the morning porcelain visit often involves a line.

Another reason I don't hang out at the fairgrounds in the evening.

Anyways, I lived outdoors and slept on the ground (sometimes on a cot) for 20 years. A decent hotel room is the answer for me.

I might look in to that scooter daily rental deal. I wonder if it will make it up to the top of the hill with my big *** on it???? LOL!

Mine will go the whole weekend without a recharge Bob but It getz plugged in every nite anyway. I'm sure the entire rental fleet iz plugged in every nite too. I've also rented 'um when I didn't bring mine. In '17 I flew into Philadelphia and paid the ransom on my Scamp, drove it to Carlisle and then back to Wilmington. It had been worked on and "tweeked" in Philly for almost two yearz at that time. They probably would have argued with me about putting my Scooty in baggage for the trip north, lol. Need to rest your feet? You qualify to do ah few lapz on my scooty too Pal. See yeah there, Jer

See you at Carlisle Jer.

That must of been funny. Lol
Chasing me on golf carts, and me on a bike. Like some comedy movie. I was at my spot then they came rolling up barking about no wheeled vehicles after 11pm. My hair was wet, towel around my neck, explained that shower was so refreshing I lost track of time, and would not be out riding anymore tonight. I think once they realized I was a almost 50 yo man riding a 20" bike there was no issue.

So, back on topic.
This thing called Carlisle. I have heard of this place. I'm told it's a place of legends, and legendary finds. I've been to Western Pa....Punxy, Dubois, etc.
And it can be humid there, but I live in Oklahoma. If that's not humid enough, let me take you to "N'awlins" in July.
I've also been to a swap meet in Madison Wisconsin called "Little Carlisle" You could probably spend a weekend there and still not see it all. And it's the first cold weekend in October. And I mean cold. I hate cold.
Does anyone have photos of this Carlisle show/meet they would share? Please post them up.
Thank you.
