In the past, I used to get cast iron, thick base water outlets that house the thermostat from Autozone. But now, virtually every parts supplier that I have researched so far uses the crappy thin aluminum outlets from Four Seasons or some form of chrome ones. They warp easily and look wrong (the cast iron ones weren't entirely correct either, but they were beefy). I see Year One has the original aluminum reproduction ones that duplicate the one used by Ma Mopar including the correct part number, but at some $55 I can pass. Even the ones Chrysler used to put on these engines were the crappy aluminum ones. Sometimes I just prefer quality if they look close. Any suggestions welcome.

I haven't looked for one in a while but I thought someone made a cast iron one for the BB

Their are two sources for good used on your side of the planet Steve. I expect you're on ah first name basis with both Big-M and Wildcat. Media blast and start over would be my choice. We won't live long enough to see one of the cast iron onez rust out even if it already iz 50 yearz old
