Why do people have to drive like idiots on Friday?

And this is a wheel barrel?

Just caught up on this thread TT glad that you will recover ok. That Liberty owner is frickin lucky! Make sure they have a longer term plan in case whiplash shows up later. My wife was in 2 Handibus accidents 3 years ago and is still dealing with the effects of whiplash. Both accidents were caused by idiots who didn't stick around. Injuries are not always apparent right away. Get better fast! The Caravan is a tough animal seen worse damage require just new bumper cover / bumper bar/ asorbers so hopefully repairable and not a writeoff.

Hijack all you want old pal, we all have had a few instances of aggressive driving and for the most part have the experience of knowing when to be cool behind the wheel.

Most of the members don't know I started driving for Uber and was working at the time this happened, and now that the car is torn up, I can't use it until it is repaired, (this is a Chicago rule).

My main purpose besides venting was to help make others aware of the stupidity out there on the roads, it is getting down right dangerous now, and none of us want a date with the Grim Reaper. For us old timers, it takes way to long to heal after something like this, for the youngsters, take care of your body now, or you will pay like the rest of us when you get older.
Thank you for tolerating me. That one was building in me for days, but wasn't worthy of it's own thread. I do feel some remorse, but I also cannot believe the OP drove that bad.

The roads sure don't seem safer to me these days... the cars maybe, but who cares... my stuff is all old anyhow. It sucks that you're out of commission due to this guy's silliness. It will really suck if the recovery takes you away from you passions.

Yeah it will suck, but I am one hell of a fighter. Growing up in my old neighborhood, and the corps gave me that. The good thing is again, I do not have to wake up and look at the bottom side of the grass.

I'll keep this short.

Years ago I used to work at the local roller skating rink. I would end up talking to the parents and other adults. One of them happened to be a plow truck driver in Forest County, PA which is known for being the only county in the state that doesn't have a traffic light. One day he was out plowing in the middle of nowhere and was moving at a pretty good rate when he came around a bend and upon man plowing his driveway on an old no cab tractor. He blew him right off the tractor with with the snow. He stopped and went back and the fella was okay fortunately.

Not something I would want to experience.

I thought I would come back and give you all an update on how things are going so far. I am still sore from the wreck, but getting better everyday, My doctor is taking very good care of me. I did hire an attorney, as the idiots insurance co has not contacted me or claimed responsibility for the accident. the car is in the body shop, and since I did not have comprehensive insurance, I am fixing the car out of pocket, but I will get this money back at the end. The car should be done by Friday so I can get back on the road and start to make up for the money this is costing me. The best thing about all this is how many people have given me well wishes and help over this, THANK YOU ALL. I guess you live a good life, it will come back to you.

Very glad to hear things are looking up for you. BTW, I bet the offender has never reported the accident to his insurance company - if he really has insurance. . .

I bet you're still sore... that stuff takes forever to heal it seems. I'm glad you're doing better and under proper care, best wishes this all gets better faster for you.

At this point in the game, your lawyer should be after them and if they do contact you... just send them to the lawyer without making any statements of any kind. Insurance companies are sneaky and slick at their game of reducing/denying claims.

Well everyone, went to court today against the driver that caused the accident, He was charged with "Driving to fast for conditions", Judge found him Guilty, then the judge asked me if his insurance co, (Liberty Mutual) is working with me to correct the accident. When I told the judge that his insurance co is refusing responsibility, the judge flipped. Total fines $ 400.00 and four months supervision. They even gave me a court certified copy of the conviction and fines to turn over to my attorney.

SAY WHAT???
Yes Stan, they are refusing responsibility for the damage to my car and the injuries. Because of their *** dragging I had to pay out of my pocket to get my car fixed. My lawyer is going to have a field day with them when I bring him the copy of the conviction from the courts. Can you say CHA CHING.

I'd love to say that I'm surprised, but I'm not. They deny, hoping you'll give up and go away. Worst case scenario for them is they pay what they owe.

State farm is the same way. Had a Chevy pick up truck their client hit after running a stop sign. The took responsibility but made me be the little dog that does tricks to get my treat.
My truck had more pre-existing damage on it than it was worth, blah, blah, blag, if I worked the hours I spent doing there jump through hoops I would have made more than they gave me. So next time a State farm insured car hits me its police, ambulance, lawyer, psychologist, etc. They should have just wrote the check.
