My 70 Fury 2 with a little bit better HP

From what I've read brake cleaner and heat equals a chemical reaction with extremely toxic and damaging fumes. Want to be very careful about using it and then weld or torch.
Ya my Buddy Rob knows what he is doing, I was a little optimistic about it to at the beginning.
But he is pretty good when it comes to stuff like that.

I installed new tires this week 235/70 front and 255/70 at the rear on a 8x15, I had 60 series tires before and I’m way happier with the 70 series.
Thanks again @Dobalovr for the tires

Looks great!!

I have my Newport on the original wheels with 225/75 white walls now and like the ride better than with the 275/60 on 15x8, not like 4 275s are ideal for absolute comfort, but they sure looked cool, I think these cars like more sidewall, some members on this forum might have been right when they only approved of stock tire dimensions, I'm loving the bare look right now, but I'll put the original wheel covers on soon

How's the fit in a c-body? I remember looking into this when I had my Duster and major surgery was required in the a-body.

Bolts right in to it , only thing you have to fabricate a new crossmember and shorten the driveshaft, not a big deal esay work.

I've read that the driveshaft tunnel needs to be clearanced for the trans case to clear it. That was from an article in the 1990s, mentioning B-bodies specifically. Just curious how close things were on the C-body cars. How to modify the trans crossmember?

Enjoy!

There is enough space for the 518 , you have too notch the trans cross member out and weld new plates in.
I will post some pictures of it when is completely done.

With my a500 none of that was needed fyi.
With either you cannot use the stock console shifter mechanism without customization. I used a cable to drive it instead of the hard linkage.

I installed the 4:10 gears and 8 3/4 in the car, is pretty good for the next little while, ordered a new billet 2600 stall converter and better valve body from SMR transmission to get the Fury off the line faster and I’m already thinking about upgrading the cam from the 6.4 to comp cam they have good kits for little money $1400usd for a cam that gives you around 80hp over stock.

The SRT cam is good and a lot cheaper than any aftermarket. I haven't seen anyone but the hardest core na stroker guys say aftermarket is better than SRT.

I’m running a 6.4 cam at the moment

I haven't seen anyone suggest in your app that would be $1400 well spent. I have seen some people disappointed with the aftermarket swap. Among old hot rodders at least
