The crappy years? There were some cool Mopar cars from 1975-1991 (pre-viper), so list 'em!

Back in the day dated a lady with a 86 Chrysler Lebaron GTS.
When the turbo quit I would say the GTS stood for GOES TOO SLOW!

Personally, I had an 87 Diplomat ex cop car. Great performing and handling car, super reliable. I could do the "Blues Brothers" parallell park manuver quite well in that car! Lol!

I am taking my 88 Lancer Shelby 1 of 279 made to Moparfest this Weekend in Kitchener Ontario. It is Canada's biggest Mopar show and is back after 2 year absence.

There is a guy every year at Carlisle road course event on Friday that floggs the crap out of a TC. His helmet matches the car.

I forgot how popular Mopars were down under, and that the Hemi didn't die in 1971. In 1971-1981 Austrailia Chrysler made 3 versions of the Hemi 6, highest hp was 302hp in 1971. By 1981, the highest output Hemi 6 was downgraded to 203hp. Still respectful in a time since most V8's were around 200hp. I never understood why Chrysler didn't import these great ideas to the good old USA.

I have always wondered how close that head is to bolting on a slant six. It's a shame Chrysler was so broke at the end of the 70s that they never redesigned the head on the slant with new technology and or overhead cam.

Not even close, from what I read back in pre-interwebz times

I still don't know how a "hemi" has spark plugs entering at a right angle like a wedge. Still, I'd take one.

Saw this car at Fall Fling in Van Nuys in 2006:

I thought hemi configuration was intake port, valve, plug, valve, exhaust port. Allowing air to pass straight through. I don't see that in the picture above.

You won't see that in a 3Gen Hemi, either. But, this IS a Hemi configuration. It's the shape of the combustion chamber that matters, not the plug placement.

Chrysler's Canadian design studio went out of business in 2014, replaced by USA models. Since these Canadian cars were much like the USA equivalent, why didn't Chrysler sell these down in the USA as an upgraded trim option? Seems like a waste of money.
