I believe those were called Zimmers. I saw one at a small show I was in several years back. (Same show where a guy tried to tell me his '69 T-Bird was as long as my Newport. Not.) Built on Mustang body and parts.

I understand it's your car but why flat black the bumpers but not the chrome trim?
Why not? The trim on these cars are mostly stainless or aluminum and can be polished back to near new condition. The bumpers on the other hand, they are chrome and chrome is not cheap to redo. Once it fades, thins, pits and distorts in anyway sometimes the easiest/cheapest thing to do is just to sand/grind and paint.
Where I'm at it's well over $2k to rechrome a bumper, a bumper, and honestly most Fuselage and Formal C bodies just aren't worth the cost.
