The beginning of a new life and a new build!

Me too buddy! :hehe: I have a couple of ideas. I will check on them the next day or two. They already told me that if spacers need to be changed just let them know and they will make them up and ship them down to me. So I guess I need to get my yard stick out and wait for the moon to be in the right place for the dial indicator and get some measurements for them. I really can't stress how much I like the finish on these brackets. Really nice machine work and everything actually fit the way it was supposed to with out changing any thing. It took me less than 10 mins to get everything mounted and it only took that long because I refused to look at the instructions for the first 5 mins. Great product so far. Now I'm just going to see if it can be better for more of us.

Yeah they really do look great and you'll figure it out man. I wish the PO left the A/C in my car, but I kind of like the engine bay the way it looks. Maybe one day, I'll put it together. It is nice to be cool in a cool car..!

What about the possibility of moving the alternator over to where the compressor is and moving the compressor where the alternator is located? I think the set-up that March Performance uses locates the Sanden a/c compressor in the same area as the stock compressor but they use a GM type II style power steering pump. Most of those older pumps like the Saginaw units are kind of bulky looking compared to the newer pumps that give a cleaner look. Those brackets do help clean it up alot.

Yeah I talked with them yesterday and I am thinking about changing over the pump. One it would be much much easier to find a replacement if something were to ever happen. The GM saginaw pump is a dime a dozen. My 4 door I used to have had the saginaw pump on it when I got it. Not sure it was original but it worked great.

Well got some work done this weekend. Pulled the engine and headlight wiring out to rebuild it and possibly start building replacement harnesses for sale. Here is a pic of the engine compartment before I pulled the intake. Going to clean it up and paint it unless I can find someone trying to get rid of a low deck eddie or something.

I have seen saginaw p/s pumps on different mopars just not sure when they changed to them sometime in the 70's?

John I may actually be cleaning the intake and repainting it for the time being. I have two carbs at the house that I will probably rebuild. One is a 600 vaccum secondary and the other is a 750 vs. They are both holley's. I just don't know when I'm going to have the money to put out for another intake and carb. I actually plan on building my 408 small block with a turbo for the Fury down the road so I really don't want to dump a bunch of money in this engine. but if I go much further I am going to have to reconsider that.

I wish people would put their number on the adds. I really don't want to sign up on another site just to buy an intake! LOL. Let me see how the week goes and I may just have to do it. Thanks for the links!

That's good news that you already have carbs for it. I'd go with the 750. The intake will look good painted up too. Here's a shot of the 440 in the 68 GTX we tuned this past Sunday. All stock. Car is beautiful. The 440 pulls pretty good for being stock after we tuned it. Probably a high 14 second car.

I'd be very interested in hearing all about the 408!!! "MOPAR BABY"

Between this site and FBBO you'll get a ton of really knowledgeable people. There are seem really sharp engine builders on the FBBO site (IQ52, Rev Ronnie, come to mind off the top of my head). i'm a member of both. But then again I have a C-body and 2 B-bodies. But even if I didnt I'd join them both. Well the whole family of sites are really good.

Yeah I'm a member on the A site as I used to have a demon and a duster well actually 2 dusters. I may end up over there any way just to see if I can confuse anyone on wiring! :poke:

Great Parts Contact for C Bodies!

Hi all! Just thought I would share this information, I just got back from visiting Murray B. Park (person not a place) in Tiffin, OH. He has over 1500 MOPAR C Bodies and has broken down (for parts) over 2000 C Bodies. He also has a few A and B bodies. I got several parts that I thought I would never find for my '67 Ply. VIP and my '65 Ply. Sport Fury (including a center console latch catch that I have been trying to find forever! ). It was so great to see all the cars he has. He is certainly a C body enthusiast. Real nice guy and fair prices. He also ships internationally but I wanted to see them for myself so I took the drive all the way from New Mexico (yeah, I'm crazy); but it was an experience! He is so knowledgeable about what is interchangeable with what and what will fit what, etc.

Great contact for those who need those hard to find parts or pretty much any parts! His info:

Good luck! :)

They are coming. I was missing the latch catch forever and the clock knob for the '65, thanks to Murray I got those. The '65 is pretty much 100% done. For the '67 I was able to get the radio, a rear light, the instrument panel bezel, instrument switches, and clock knob which does a lot for the car. We have an electrical draw somewhere which drains the battery quickly so we are taking out the aftermarket radio and replacing the ballast resister and voltage regulator to start and then go from there.

The big MOPAR show is on June 14th and we are excited to take both! :)

Stan dear lord what are we going to do with you? LOL. Well I wish I had some different news but it really wasn't a good weekend. There was a small episode in the garage and there was a small fire that didn't end so small. Ok I can't do it. Sorry. I was so dang busy this weekend and didn't have even a chance to pick up a wrench. I did however spend a couple of mins and I think I found a way for another set of brackets to be made for the power steering pump so I can reuse the factory pump. I am going to call them today and see what they think about making a set for me and seeing if we can't get this thing going. However all of my time and effort are going to be getting my Blazer straightened out for our trip we are about to make.
