I took Goldie out for a nice extended drive today. I couldn't be happier with the front suspension and rebuilt "sport" power steering. I do have a few other things to sort out.

One is the shifting on my rebuilt 727. It shifts to 2nd almost immediately, even under a heavy foot. I am impatient and can't get ahold of the guy that rebuilt it right now. He said my valve body was questionable, but decided not to change it out since that can be done on the car. My ignorance here, but that is the job of the valve body, correct, to be the "brains" for shifting your car?

Ck the throttle valve linkage (on left side of trans) this will control your shifting and if it is not right it will cook the trans

Crap thanks for the tip. I will double check that I have everything hooked up correctly.

I had a vision .. there's a clip off your kickdown linkage.

Hook it back up and I guarantee that will fix it :)

Wow such amazing vision you have. It's like I posted the solution my problem, but I couldn't have because it's not here.

You are a funny man, you get an A for paying attention.

Well it looks like I am looking for a valve body. I have a few problems compound on each other. I got my kick down linkage hooked back up but still not shifting right. I then realized that the linkage had spun its way down a good 3 inches from where it was. Once I got it back, it pretty much shift to high gear or starts in 2nd. The shifting is not precise by any means.

The guy who rebuilt it for me confirmed it was the valve body and not something else. He told me we could change it out in about any hour once we locate a valve body. If any of you have one that you think might work, and you would be willing to part it, with let me know.

My buddy rebuilds transmissions for a living & he said that's the one to use. That's what he used to build me a tranny for the Pimpolara and it's very street friendly.

Thanks Ross, I can get her back on the road a lot quicker if I go that route.

Bad news Mike but hopefully it's a blessing in disguise somehow and improves the car and your overall experience with it with the Cheetah VB

I installed this to get part throttle kick down. Works great. throttle kick down.jpg
