I decided to start a new thread concerning my recently acquired '66 300 convertible. From here on out, its gonna be less about "the deal" and more about fixing / restoring it. As with every restoration, it begins with an inspection and a test drive. I did the personal inspection two weeks ago, and yesterday I did a 400-mile test drive getting the car home from North Carolina.

Here are a few photos to chronicle the event:

Arrival at Lloyd's house to deliver my trade and pick up the 300:

I did a title for title trade once on a 68 cougar for an 85 CRX.. dude wanted a ricer and I wanted a hotrod. it worked out.

Nice score!

Looking forward to following your progress on this beauty!

The last shot was at a Mc D's in Lovington. The rain had started to let up. . .

These next few shots will take us along SR 6 to US 250 and Skyline Drive:

It has been many years since I traveled along Skyline Drive. I had forgotten how truly beautiful it is. . .

A few more photos along the way. Batteries went dead in the camera and the cell phone. Good thing the car didn't die too.

Finally arrived at the Garage Mahal last night at about 8:45 PM. Left NC at 11:30 AM. A mighty fine road trip that went unexpectedly pretty well. I'll post a few comments about the small troubles I did have, however, in another post.
