I would worry a bit about the offset (would it be too "positive" -- like more than five inches - reducing inside clearance?) guessing the "cutting and pasting" would be strictly on the inside.
this outfit you provided said he removes the centers .. BUT the OEM trim ring wouldn't look right if the outside face was messed with right?
Anyway, I will call and ask what can be done. and if Aidan chips in that'd be great as well.
I'm gonna use them on my Newport if it works out.

I didnt get to see the rims personally so I cant comment on what was done , what the offset is etc, Aidan will have to fill you in on all the details.

I'd like to barge in on this and throw an additional angle.
The center of the Road Wheel:

Most all other Mopar steel centers have the bumps to hold the hubcap on, the only exception being that I know of is the special 1971 Fury Road wheel found on the GT which uses a trim ring that extends all the way into the center.

Because I can be kind of a dumbass at times... can we set the record straight on factory available road wheel? 15x6 are common, 15x7 were used on station wagons and exist (not so common), 5x8 Ramcharger only wheels were produced but near impossible to find? 71 SFGT's ... can't be enough around to even want to think about chopping up a set, plus the special rings would be impossible to match.
I am sure the trim rings are different, but I have no reference for the wheels and at the point you are widening them... anything that fits and looks good would work (even if not Mopar).
BTW, thanks for the link Wollfen. I won't be buying any, but they seem to be reasonable on pricing and offer custom offsetting... big win for someone who really wants to go for that look. If you still have that set of road wheels laying around, I would suggest amazinblue82 buy them and send them in as cores... that way his pretty set can stay pretty. After the welding, I'm sure re-chroming is necessary anyhow...

Best of my knowledge the road wheel is 15 X 6.
Cars that required 6.5 or 7" wheels the road wheel wasn't available ( wagons and tow package cars)
Later B's and other rear wheel drive lines they were available in 15 X 7.

No...The 15 X 8 is a plain steel wheel, not a road wheel
Super Coupe wheels are also 15 x 8. They look like cop wheels with slots but don't have the nubs for dog dish caps.

i am keenly aware of 15x7 and 15x8 steelies from the factory: Super Coupe as Tallhair said, trucks, had 15x8s. Cop cars (some were 15x6.5 as you said), B/F/M/J/R's had 15x7's (maybe even the A's before they disappeared).
but the only 16-slot "road wheel" I ever knew was a 15x6 as you say. if you folks tossed this topic around somewhere here, and you, Mr. C, and other knowledgeable members weighed in, that's good enough for me.
I am going to proceed on the basis that to get another width of 16-slot road wheels, an otherwise good set has got to be spliced/welded or whatever they do to get what I am looking for.
If Aidan catches up with this thread, I'm sure he will shed light on this whole thing from the work he had done.

This 15x8 aftermarket wheel fits perfect under the rear wheel opening, clears suspension front and back, etc.. With 4.5 inch backspacing (nine inches total wheel width) on a 235/70 tire I have the "look" I want.

As mentioned the widening of a road wheel will effect the trim ring fitment. PLEASE keep us posted on widening efforts. I've been thinking of doing four myself

Sorry... It was a poorly worded question... I have been watching the road wheel thing halfheartedly for a while... I had thought/understood/believed there was a 15x7 road wheel for wagons only... And I thought it was recently mentioned that a similar wheel was available on Ramchargers only at 15x8... There is a 7" wide road wheel that I'm told was used on Diplomat wagons.
I have a set on my car.... and yes, that's not the "correct" trim ring, but I like it.
