I know some of you are wondering..."who the hell is Lawrence Welk?"...Well, if you were at least five years old during the late '60s through the late '70s, he had a variety musical TV show on ABC. It was what your grandparents would watch on early Saturday nights. I know. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents back then! He was a bandleader; hence the A1 AN A2 California license plate on that Dodge Royal Monaco!

I was up in the air about Owning a Formal but this might of just won me over.

Myron on the accordion; Bobby and Sissy on the dance floor. Thanks grandma for making me watch LW with you. Great memories.

Cool pic. Thanks for posting.

I remember fondly those Sunday nights on my grandparents den floor watching Lawrence Welk.
Great memories...

Can't believe he didn't drive an Imperial.

I guess I can... I'm loving my RMB.

This is an awesome post. Thank you Patrick for the picture. It shall be printed and placed in a conspicuous place on my job, where I am known as "Capt'n C-body".

#Glenn Miller, #Artie Shaw, #Benny Goodman, #Tommy Dorsey, #Les Brown.

...and I am 45.

My parents watched this faithfully but I couldn't stand it. Went to my room and put on Dazed and Confused...

One of my music teachers dated 2 of the Lennon sisters.

Well, he may have privately, but his show's MAJOR sponsor was Dodge. So he was pretty much obligated to be seen in public driving Dodge's.

And don't worry, you are not alone in knowing exactly what the LW show was all about. Watched every week almost religiously. Many of the performers were actually VERY talented. I'm sure you remember the Lennon Sisters? Can you name them?

Guess that was a dumb question, hell anybody can look them up on the internet nowadays. Duh! :BangHead:

So was grandma responsible for your avatars too? I know there must be a hidden message in them. :realcrazy:
