GJS's 1967 Dodge Monaco 500: Beverly

Brakes all set for now. Still awaiting sneakers which should come in Monday.
Happened to glance forward from the master cylinder and saw the Certicard. Totally forgot to look for it but there it was.
Gotta say, she's been a peach to work on so far. Cannot wait to hit the road.

Originally a gold car? My 68 Monaco 500 was originally gold then painted yellow like yours. Nice score by the way.
My 67 is ZS2, two-tone gold top and cream. My 68 was HH1 (if I remember correctly) light gold but the cream of 67 is really close to the light gold of 68.

Got her new sneakers today. Started right up and was moved to her new bay for the remainder of the work towards road readiness. Ran better than she did in the cold rainy weather that was here tha day she came home. Still a ton of tuning to do.

One lug nut started to cross thread and I can't seem to get it to not so that. Anyone know a place I can grab a new set? I figure I'll replace them all at once.

Thanks all!

I have a 66 Polara 500 convertible. I wanted whitewalls of course. I got Hankook 235/70 R-14

I went with 215 75 r 14. We'll see how it goes... at first I was all about keeping the 14s as the wheel covers are gorgeous but I find my mind drifting a bit on that... For cruising purposes, I may get some 15" steelies eventually.

I've gone through several styles of wheels and finally settled on these...

Those look really nice, esp on your car. The color and amount of trim lend well to a smoother looking rim.

My old Monaco, a 68 like yours, wound up with service rims and dog dishes .. it wasn't a 500 so the trim was much more minimal and it worked well. I don't see the same on my 67 though.
Thing is that, while in good physical condition, the car is mechanically tired and as I redo those mechanisms, suspension specifically, it's stance will change and my visions for rims and tires will as well. For now I'll just stick it out with the 14's.

I'm sure I've said it before but, your car is AWESOME!

Hoss here check out E-bay for tires it will give you an idea whats out there

Here is a picture of my Monaco 500 with original 14" wheels and covers. 15" would fill the wheel wells a little better, but for me it's a bit of nostalgia, it's my dad's old car and I remember the car with the original covers. I will probably will get flamed for the comment, but with cars this size and trim level my personal preference is to have a fair bit of tire showing. If the rim gets too big the tire gets too small the wheels look a little out of proportion. again just my preference.

That is a beautiful colour combo!

You could try running a die on that stud to straighten the threads out.
