2017 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals July 14-16

On my way. Was able to re-schedule jury duty to Sept.
A couple stops to make on the way and staying in Somerset tonight.
Be there first thing Sat. and Sun.

NYB i feel your pain. I had to cancel last minute two years ago due to a minor surgery.

Oh, and that picture of the rain could have been taken any year. It always rains at some point this weekend. Tip, don't park on the hill!
I think the year it was 100+° I don't think it rained would have been nice but standing in the sprayer hose in the bottom row was the only relief.
I better get my *** in gear to see some new faces this year.

Open parking used to be on the hill. That hill can get slippery in the rain. Guy parked "up-hill" of me nearly slid into my car trying to back out. I usually park on the guys front lawn right outside gate #3.

Open parking garage hasn't been on the grounds for this event in fifteen years, easy

Yeah, it had to be mid/late 90s. It was a brand new Sebring conv that nearly got hit.

I have determined that I will not be able to make it to Carlisle this year. I'm hoping my health will get better soon and I'm able to come to Carlisle next year.

Sorry Fella's.......

Sorry to hear that Bob, but your health is more important! Hopefully next year.

News Flash!!!

I have a high load to pick up in SC on Monday and a 100-150 mile detour on the way there will put me through Carlisle.

If the whole deal doesn't go sideways I should be there Thursday afternoon late until Saturday afternoon.

The plan is to drop my float at the Petro and park the tractor in the big field outside Gate 3. Depending on what she charges to camp I may just stay there.

Kevin

And sideways it went...

Was supposed to deadhead down to SC for Monday. Had planned to leave yesterday and be in Carlisle last night.

They found a machine going to the same area but it couldn't load until today. This cuts a day off my plan but still doable and more $$$.

Got it loaded and it's overweight. Only 94,000 lbs... WTF this was supposed to be legal. Too late to get a NY state permit but the others self issue. Classic case of you can't get there from here if NY state is off the table.

Thruway permit gets me out of NY on 90 and then 79 to 77 etc.

Closest I get to Carlisle that way is Morgantown WV. Thought about renting a car in the morning there but it's a 400 mile round trip and still have 500 more to go Sunday to make Greenville SC.

As much as I like Carlisle that's just too much like work.

Man plans and God laughs...

There's still Moparfest :canada:

Can't imagine why... with your itinerary!
And there is a joke in there.... I worked my *** off in the drilling field for most of my life. I finally came up with a zinger after I started working for myself selling tools. However the damage was already done to my back but that's life.... anyway, I was getting out of bed one morning all hunched over and using the end of the bed as a walker and Sammie says "What's wrong?" I said without batting an eye.... "I wish my prick was as stiff as my back!" We both just split a gut laughing..
Hope you didn't do any permanent damage. See you tomorrow!
Permanent damage was done years ago... I will survive, I just get thrilled that I can still function some days.
I have determined that I will not be able to make it to Carlisle this year. I'm hoping my health will get better soon and I'm able to come to Carlisle next year.

Sorry Fella's.......
Sounds like you made the right call, we are going to miss you. That is still OK to say to a guy who spent a career trying to make sure nobody missed?

Sorry to hear Jeff, hope your doing better!

I did want to offer, now that we have the truck, if you might need something hauled back down, let me know. I know you sent your pallet out already, but there's still the show.

Looking forward to meet you as well!

we finally made it in a little after 8. Spent the last 2 hours at a do it yourself car wash, making the truck somewhat presentable. Sounds like it should be no problem to change classes, and get the truck on the show field. Luckily trucks are on the agenda this year. Don't feel like too big a putz lol.

I've seen Bigjohn is here. Havnt seen him yet. John the car is drop dead gorgeous!!! I'm extremely jealous. I think I offended the general lee guys drooling over your car so much, and paying them no mind lol. I gotta go check them out too. Seen a few cars out there, but it sucks seeing them, and mines at home!

Zac, thank you, you saved me a lot of running around. Of course I found more stuff to buy...

The wannabe Bo's and Luke's out there need to get over it... at least you didn't stop to water their wheels:lol:

Must not be much happening at Carlisle???

Not one picture posted yet or a story presented......or a Carlisle picture thread started.
