Got a set of lenses from 1970cat and I'm now doing what a friend of mine told me to do If I felt over whelmed by the project, I'm doing smaller projects and assemblies, so I deceided to tackle the front bumper assembley, So I'm Bead blasting and redoing the brackets, and will assemble the whole bumper as one assembley, I've come to the light buckets, front & Rear

What color should these be?

Hmm I guess I will have to paint it aluminum then, thats the best I can do.

Fwiw, I read in a a biker mag a long time ago about rejuvenating tail lights. They tried many techniques for the reflective part including all kinds of paints. To the surprise of all, white paint produced a brighter reflectivity over "chrome", silver, or aluminum paint. Tried it myself and I believed it.

Here is what a refreshed light bucket with Krylon "Original Chrome" paint looks like.

Chrome paint is what I use also. Park lamps, tail lights, back up lights, license plate lights, interior lights....etc. Just keep the paint out of the bulb socket. An old bulb installed while painting will help with that.

Hmm I guess I will paint the inside of the Bucket with that, would like to do the outside of it black so it blends in a bit better behind the bumper (this falls into the category of making the Fury mine)

That is very interesting...never thought about using white. Will have to try it out and see.

Hi Guys.
The best and brightest i have seen is by use a layer of chrome vinyl inside the lense housing. and cheap to.

I've thought about this before too...what product do you use?

Hi.
Don't know the product name. just went to the sign writers and he gave me same off cuts for free.
also seen (not me) tubes on the diff coated in it and other small car parts. look good from afew feet away.

My local sign shop gave me a scrap of that stuff to play with. Pretty neat stuff. I did notice that it would be difficult to keep it wrinkle free trying to cover compound curves though. It's not stretch wrap.

By the way, some guy came up with using the lower part of a tea spoon as a replacement for a small turn signal reflector.

Let Ross post the pic and you know which part I meant. :)
