Is it wrong of me liking these wheels on a 300?

There was a discussion of this on the site. Basically no. It is actually the front tires not your rear skirts that will be the problem. My 15x7 just fit on the front

I was going to go that route. I even wrote them an email if they would do a custom set of wheels with a different offset so that the 15 x 8 would fit. They never emailed me back so I presume no. Sorry I couldn't give you better news.

I don't doubt that you never heard back from them. They have never answered any email I have sent them.
I am thinking of going with a 15X6 wheel, 4 inch backspacing. The tire size charts show that a 235/75 will fit on anything from 6 to 8 inches wide.
I can get the 15X6's shipped today.
Anyone have any input on that size?

Go for it. I think you'll be happy with the results. I doubt if you would notice much difference in the handling and it will look more period correct with the narrower tire.

Okay, I just got off the phone with Summit.
The 15X6's are on their way.
I'm still on the fence, though, about the tire size.
I wonder if I should step down to a 225/75.
It will only cost me about 50 RPM at 65 MPH.
Up to 2500 from 2450 with the 3.23 gear.
I think I am over-thinking this....:BangHead:

I am told that all the time, including on this board. I tend to over-think everything it's not a bad thing but it does drive you crazy sometimes. The tires I have on my 300 throws the speedo off by 10mph, I can live with it and it might help with the speeding tickets.

I think 225's are too narrow, I like 235's. 245's on the front are too wide. Its not a race car so no need for varying size front to rear. Dont go any smaller than 70 on the sidewall.

That's my thinking also. I like the 235's overall size.
So I'm leaning more toward the 235/75R15's.
That will give me a good cruise RPM, too.
Thanks, Guys. You've all been a big help. :eek:ccasion14:

I got the 15X6's today.
I have an appointment with Discount Tire for Friday at 1300 hrs to have the tires mounted.
I should have them on the car by sometime Saturday.
I am stoked !!

There's a lot of satisfaction one gets from the simple addition of a new set of wheels.

I'm glad you finally got your wheels. Can't wait to see them on the car.

That's something a donker would also think, but I guess there's a five inch difference in it.
