Forcbodiesonly has been an indispensable resource in the last few weeks!
Just finishing the car for registration (i have been driving with temporary license plates the last few weeks) and state inspection.
Done:
- sealing the tranny pan (no more cork gaskets, installed the mopar rubber gasket with steel core)
- sealing the oil pan (the engine leaks a little bit from the rear main seal...nothing serious, but will keep an eye on it)
- replaced the steering coupler and rubber flex coupling (used the land rover part, the old one was completely destroyed...)
- leaf spring shackles / bushings
- new shocks (kyb)
- new stabilizer bushings
- lubricated speedo cable
Right now i am in the process of rebuilding the front end (Upper/Lower Control Arm Bushings, Strut Rod Bushings, Tie Rod Ends),
i hope to finish it this weekend.
The usual c-body trouble spots i suppose ;-)
Engine and tranny work smooth, already passed the emissions test, so even the carb is perfectly adjusted.
The car is completely original right down to the air filter housing...
