So the problem is that the relay mentioned on the headline makes a clicking sound when the engine is not running, but the ignition key is turned to "on" and obviously the battery cables are attached.
The clicking is caused by an electric magnet inside the relay that turns the circuit off and on. It is not audible when the headlights are turned on or either half of the power seat is moved and the sound transforms to continuous ticking after turning the headlights off.
Our guess is that the relay is being fed too much current from somewhere, but at least it can´t be a short because all lights are operable as they are supposed to.
The vehicle in question is the 73 Imperial LeBaron and yes, the FSM has been read more than a few times with no significant solution.
