I walked around the back of the car a few times before it dawned on me where it was. I had poor lighting when I looked, felt silly when I realized it was right in front of me.
 
Went back to close it up, looks good to me. @71Polara383

Ok, 4 of 6 of mine move under their own power, two run, drive, stop, one runs and drives, but can't stop,the last one runs, drives, and stopped in the fifty feet I drove it. And the two drivers, need some tweaking to their tunes.

I'm looking for a source for front seat covers for a 1967 Polara 500. (buckets). Legendary doesn't list them.
Also need a dash pad for the same.
Any help?
 
Well, I brought the car home tonight. It ran ok, still chug-a-lugging along. The secondaries open! But it still has a surging, sluggish, almost falls on it's face type feeling. After the fourth pedal mashing kick down, I got a little bang and pop from the carb, like it was loading up. It cruises, but only like gentle throttle application (sloooowwww). It started hard after the 10 mile drive home, a little dieseling sounding when it fired. The carb is number one on my list. I might rebuild it tomorrow if the honey do list isn't too long, it isn't released until right before I wake up. It still only starts with a shot of starting fluid, but does start immediately, and idles fine. A the basics will be checked. A tune up is going to occur very soon. Haven't really even gone over the car, but I had a smile on my face while driving home, even when it popped. Three times was enough, but I had to do it again, and I got some data I needed. Pretty soon it should be smoking the tires at will. I think this will be the driver for this year's season. Not what I planned, but I'm fine with it. It feels good going down the road, so I'm hopeful it will be getting a lot of miles on it very soon. I'll have some pictures tomorrow.

With all the goop around the rear window, I was a little bummed when I saw some water on the rear seat/package tray junction area on the driver's side. A little water got in the trunk, passenger side, just right of the spare tire. I'll probably add some more goop. I'm not jumping into the mess that the rear window channel is, I'm not going that deep into this car.

After that thorough inspection :)rofl:) I went to the store for some coffee and bananas, perfect for the Monaco. Sprayed some starting fluid in the carb, and it fired right up. Waited about seven seconds and out it into gear, went right in and didn't stall. :thumbsup: Still ran poorly, but not two footing it was nice.

Did discover the wipers don't work. They moved about a centimeter, and that's it. I'm a firm believer in Rain-X, and have some on hand, so I'll be fine til I figure out the wipers, if I bother with them. Squirters work though, and there's fluid in the tank! All kinds of firsts for my old cars. I haven't put twenty miles on it yet, but I'm optimistic.

A little rattle when turning, thinking exhaust the way it sounds, like a pipe is too close to the steering linkage. Need to get the car up on a rack and take a look under it. I only had a few minutes laying on the ground when I took it off the trailer, but I didn't care about the underside at that point.

Oh, it got called a Monte Carlo when I was at the gas station. :BangHead:
 
I'm an idiot. Not completely, but partially. I looked under the hood when I was spraying fluid in the carb. Well, the vacuum advance wasn't plugged in, some plugged it in. It drove like ****. Then I remembered that a Pertronix deal was installed, so.i unplugged it, and it ran the same as before. And then I saw I didn't have an alternator. I knew that when I bought the car, but forgot about it since then. Good thing I had a good battery, and I had experience from last year about battery reserve times! No big deal as I'm only driving in town. I pulled it up to the garage, and plan on fixing the carb, and installing an alternator. First I have to work on the '98 Ram, steering linkage is work bad. The car will get some attention today, I think the honey do list is almost complete.

It's got some dings, but damn, I have a complete set! The car fits my scruffy standard, that's for sure. I bet it was a looker when it was new.
