1988 Aries K-Car....

Great car and great story! It's nice to see a cherished car go to a good home.

Connect the trailer to the truck and use a come-a-long from a sturdy part of the truck to the bottom of the jack to pull it back into place.

Beautiful Aries and sentimental, my best buddy and I had a week-long road trip and several camping trips in his '87 Aries, very practical and comfortable and he kept his immaculate too. Was a sad day when it got t-boned.

Thanks everyone for the kind words....Yeah the car is in amazing shape even on the underside, most bolts are only showing a bit of surface rust no scaling anywhere and my friend, and I, both checked the "danger zones" that were mentioned in a previous thread and all are in pristine shape. My job will be to keep things in good shape drive train and under carriage wise. ;)

We love to name our vehicles, plants, etc and asked the original owner if she had named the car, but she had not so we were talking and the color of the the car came up, it is Rose Wood Metallic, so I suggested to my daughter that we call her Rosey....she loved it so that is her name now. :)

The story on the car is that she worked at a diner across the street from the dealership...The Night and Day...and the sales men at the dealership used to bring customers over for a drink and some food while the buttered them up for the deal on the vehicle. So needless to say she got to know most of the sales men and when she wanted/needed a new car they hooked her up sweet on a new car. She said other then a couple hundred miles put on the car by her husband she put every mile on the car.

That was my thought about bending the trailer jack into place.....wrap a strap around my Dana 70 diff, or around a frame rail cross member and come-a-long it back into place.

I would love to have a simple FI K-car to run around in. I couldn't do the red interior, but blue or gray would put a smile on my face.

Good score Brian! The 88 89 K are the better ones. Double check brake lines and the K frame itself. The color combo was very popular when new. Buckets and floor shift is a big bonus.
