Furyous

i think 4.10's would work out well , 3.91 are okay , that short stroke 400 and big bore piston like rpm . don't need much head to get it to breath . i would think its some were in the 5500 range for its peek with stock heads , if it was high c/r then 6500 . better heads and then 7500 plus . my 63 fury ran a 383 with giant c/r n heads with a single 850 on it to 8000 rpm , stock rods n crank just polished to mirror finish everywhere , and a giant cam , solid tappet type , 4.89's 30'' slicks 2'' primaries 3 1/2 collectors 12'' long open headers . ran 10.73 in ihra , all metal car , alum inner fenders wells , replaced the steel ones . this 440 +.06 maxwedge street package , pump gas c/r was running 11.82 flat at 6200 through the traps . just like i drove it , same rubber on the rears n 2 1/2'' through the muffers . here is a shot of the last timed at the track , that was before the fresh air version of air cleaners , as you can see they got pushed up into the air which was an issue if i wanted to run the scoop .

I have finally got FURYIOUS in the shop & have started my winter updates. A little late I know. I pulled the engine & trans. Plans are to install a deep/baffled oil pan & windage tray. I already cleaned up the header studs. I had 1 that was leaking & couldn't tighten it. I have two good used sets of headers. I got one set down from storage loft today & it’s a large tube header. Not sure I want to run that. I think my other set is a standard size 1 7/8 tube. Also I plan some weight reduction. Hoping for 100 pounds. And a new fuel cell & aluminum fuel line. I bought an aluminum h20 pump housing. Some new valve cover & a dress coat of Mopar orange paint. And I’m going to try to make a set of elephant ears &mount the engine that way. I’ll do a mock up with a block & spare tranny I have. Then moving rearward. Good chance of a lexan windshiel. Aluminum interior panels. Improve the drive shaft loop. And all new aluminum trunk floor & battery tray. Followed with a fiberglass rear bumper. Also I am going to fab up a quick disconnect trans line using AN fittings & a lite braided hose rated for heat & psi. And a quick disconcert starter hook up. All of this will make future engine removable & service much easier. Also I want to try that 3.73 gear I got & see how the car likes that. Yea a lot to do so I’ll be busy. Plan is to have her back on the track in early April. Also while the engine was out I checked the vin # on the engine & it matches the dash vin that means FURYIOUS has her original engine. I plan some trans upgrades too. A SFI flex plate. Deep trans pan. New seals & band adjustments.

furyios is getting some new stuff , great ! that new gear should get it a bit quicker , and improve the mph as well . whats happening with that glass nosed 65 cuda ?
