by the time 1988 rolled around, with the new suspension, these cars were the best they could have been (but we shoulda put the 4.1L or 4.5L V8 in it (i drove mules with that engine) ... then we killed it.

V8 conversion via the "Archie" kit (V8 Kits)

That conversion is a Testerossa body kit away from a true 90's wannabe dream :poke:

I was approached by a guy who wanted me to start assembling those kits, back then... he was sure it was the next big automotive craze.

I bet the 4.5 was a fun ride, but I'd still rather an Allante if I was to suffer with one.

the only good thing with the Archie kit, if one were inclined to try it (that would not have been me) was the mechanical conversion hard parts were there. I really wasn't diggin' the plastic stuff. a Poncho Testarossa? Naw .. i cant get there from here to each his own.

the fun ride was the Eaton-supercharged "3800 ER V6" (smooth, powerful, proper weight) in that car. that engine was NOT evailable yet *to my recollection when we scrapped all the mules .. but i had a friend who did that conversion years later.

The turbo Grand National Buick V6 was in production, and there was "cloud talk" (uh, "suits" discussing it I was told) about it but i never saw a Fiero mule with one running around

Ah .. Allantes. I must bore you one day with first-hand tales of wonder and woe with that one :)

That car always reminds me of the Married with Children Episode.

Good thing I have no money right now! :) Serious Fiero fan. Plenty of groups to sell them on. Pennocks Fiero Forum is probably the best Fiero related site.
Pennock's Fiero Forum

or

Or hit your search engine. Fiero's have a lovely cult following. Places like
V8 Archie
turn them into screamers!

I know it is heresy, but I would sell my Fury in a heartbeat for an '85 Fiero Sport Coupe with minimal options (tilt, sunroof and AC), red over tan with a 3800sc tucked in the engine bay.

FINAL UPDATE, the cars were purchased by amazinblue82 and have been delivered. Great guy to do business with.
