I finally found the correct name for this part. I found a NOS clock for my 67 Polara but the "time reset cable" was not included. 67/68, (perhaps others) should interchange. The knob comes out below the dash just right of the steering column.
Perhaps someone will have one in a parts car or something.

Thanks
Will.

The more I (we) learn the better it gets. Thanks for sharing this nugget of information.

Hey Will. In the imperial world these are odometer resets. Maybe they’re the same?

I find it VERY hard to believer that people were that PC correct in 1967 to give it that name! Where did you find this term?

Shoot me a price shipped to 36535.
perhaps send one of each type. I'll buy what I need and send the rest back to you.

It's not really official, but it works for me. The reset cable is not listed separate in the parts book. Included with the clock kit.
I found a listing for a NOS clock on ebay and pulled the term from that.

Kinda looks right Matt. The top and 3rd one down in the 1st pic look the closest.

The bottom two are identical to each other as are the top three. I think the ones with the deep thumb screw are four 1966 and earlier and the bottom two are from 1967 and 1968.

I’m leaving the shop now so I will get you a quote in the next couple of days.

I think your right Matt. I have a couple weeks or more before I need it. Thanks.

So the E-bay person is the idiot here, not you. You just stole it!

I'm not sure what your issue is, but the term "time reset cable" seems as good as any other. It did get a response that may be the answer for my problem after several earlier requests for help or info brought nothing. :poke:

Matt, (detmatt), made the connection based on the photo of the clock kit I posted and the cables he had on hand. The parts book lists Matts cable as "odometer reset cable" but does not list the clock cable as a separate part. If they turn out to be the same I would think that "time reset cable" would be the correct term to identify. Makes me wonder how many folks know that.
So..... there's the facts!

So, did you ever get your reset thingy? I've got a decent one that looks like the two on the bottom. Spare parts from a 67/68 Newport collection of parts.

He should have it today, USPS.

Cool. I'm up north at my brothers shop with the Polara right now. (cold here). I should have had you send it here. Will be back home Thurs/Fri. Next trip up I should have all I need to put the dash back together. She'll be a driver then.

I appreciate the offer. Will see how the one Matt sends works out.
