Sway Bars Optional?

Were sway bars optional on the 66 model Furys? My VIP parts car has the sway bar complete with welded on tabs on the frame rail. My Sport Fury 440 Vert doesn't even have the tabs?
I realize the construction of my car to it's present condition is somewhat suspect but I'll add the tabs now if the bar is needed?

I believe all big block cars came with a front sway bar back then.
Is the S.F. an original big block?
In 66 the 5th digit of vin would be “E” or “D” for a small block.
“F” and up would be big blocks.

I'ts a j code car but the front end all looks like it's been swapped. Maybe with the front end of a small block model?

Swap bars are nice. I got new bushings, and it was like I added the sway bar itself.

I bought sway bars from PST for my '65 Sport Fury. The front is larger than the stock one I took off. I also added a rear bar and purchased the rebuild kits for the front and rear suspension. The sway bar kits come with all the hardware to fasten them, so maybe they offer a kit with bolt-on tabs for cars that don't have them. That's if you wanted to install new stuff.

Maybe someone replaced your frame with one from a Fury I or II.

As I came to realize, back then, the 318 and 225-engined Plymouth Furys did NOT have the front sway bar as standard equipment . . . as the 383s and larger RB engine cars did. It was optional, though, on the sixes and small blocks. Possibly a part of the Basic Group option package on the non-B/RB cars?
