So following the lead of another poster on this site today I went down to U-Pull-it & Pay
2501 W Buckeye RD Phoenix AZ
Proper name should be "You pull it and we screw you with your pants on"
the Imperial has no motor and some rust underneath
The New Yorker no rust and a 440 engine
I spent 2.5 hours yanking stuff off then went up with my wheelbarrow loaded to pay
When I got up to pay they itemized everything..they probably would have added an extra charge if they found a pube stuck to something. After they (cashier and some guy that didn't know his *** from his elbow) started to tally up about 8 items (exterior moldings) I asked the cost 170.00 !! WTF????? I figured it would cost me 500.00 or more to get about 50.00 worth of crap I had pulled off: switches, moldings, radio...not much really.
So for the first time in 40 years of wrecking yarding (probably 300 visits at least over the years) I said no.. not going to buy this stuff. Walked back & put it in the car. I did keep one thing: the sequential turn signal relays/motor from the trunk. Brought it up and the guy shows it to the cashier she doesn't know and the guy doesn't know what it is. They ask me and I say relays and they say what for??? I say for the headlights. OK they were good with that!
These 2 employees had no idea of what they were looking at and no doubt had never worked on a car. Clueless. Pathetic.
As our president once said " If they turned their brains to gas you wouldn't have enough gas to drive a piss-ant's motorcycle around the inside of a Cheerio"
OK no president ever said that but I did.
