I was looking for new control arm splash shields. Nothing. Of course.
Jim at Detroit Muscle Technologies sent me the correct material to make my own in exchange for my old ones so that he can eventually offer a precision die-cut complete splash shield kit for Formals.

A "GOOD GUY" award to Jim. :sSig_thanks:

Right now, I only have them rough cut. I wanted to get the OEM's back to him asap.

Same here!!! Great to hear somebody making something for C-Bodies. On their home page I read "C-Body" catalog coming soon!!!

Stan did you make outlines of your old ones or are they going to send you the material first so you can match up the originals to the new material?

He sent me a section off a roll of correct new material.
I used my old ones as templates and sent my old ones back to him from which he'll tool up dies. Mine obviously are utility knife jobs where his offerings will be die-cut. More than a fair trade off. Way more :-)

Jim and his wife Loretta at DMT are great folks. Easy to work with. I needed a steering column seal for my 65 Coronet 500. They didn't offer one for floor shift cars so he asked for my original as a pattern and sent me a reproduction as soon as they were made, no charge.

Nice stuff too.

In addition, he sells the hard to find correct clips for the splash shields, btw.

Now there's a business model everyone should notice! Can you imagine Atlas doing that? Never. And that's why Atlas is a company everybody buys from once and never again.

This is good to know, I've gotten B & E body stuff from them and have been very pleased with there product. Makes me feel even better about our underdog C bodies and the growing demand for the aftermarket.

I've bought some stuff from them too and it was really good quality. I'm glad to hear they are doing more.

It's smart business... The investment for tooling (steel rule die) on stuff like this is low compared to the return.

Got my heater box restoration kit, splash kit and taillight gaskets today, thanks again for the DMT :)
