Daytona in B7

The Daytona was the first car I lusted after that I knew I would never own. The '68 Charger is still my favorite car ever designed although the '67 Crown Coupe is gaining on it daily.:)
Definitely the best design from the '60s, the '68 Charger, no other muscle car comes close.

B7 to B5.

Daves 71 doesn't fit in as it is GB7 a different colour than the earlier (E)B5 used in 1969&1970.

But the Daytona seems to be Pretty dark. Pic was taken with clouded sky though.
F70-14 white walls may be correct otherwise it would be F70-14 redlines but only the broadcastsheet will tell.

That is sweet! out of a 500 track car too. Super cool!
No, it was a 1970 383 Charger 500 but the wing, opened up and rounded off fenders, hood, and nose, came off a Winston west car that was hit by Jack Mx Coy,s Hilton Charger. Bach flush window from Ted Jamak out of Texas.

super cool to do that. I've wanted to build a clone for years. perhaps some day...

I have not seen many of the real desirable mopars in person. The exception would be winged cars. For whatever reason there was several around here 20 years ago. All sweet. A very good friend of mine that grew up here told me about a Daytona on a car lot in the 80's it had a crunched drivers door and was $1500. He had the cash from his farm job. But his Dad made it clear that that no stupid *** dodge with a stupid *** wing would ever be parked at the family home for all to see.
He was an old school Studebaker man.

Here is one I ran across last summer...

I'm sure it's B7 but the lighting makes it look more like B9.

Back in the day, around '79, Sammie and I could have bought an orange and white one. We couldn't come up with the $1900 to save our butts.

Bench seat, 383 4bbl. Pistol grip. Damn...

It had a 383 in it?

You would have not been able to get a bench seat in a Daytona Charger...or a 383...or a pistol grip. More likely a Superbird with a 383 in place of a 440/Hemi.

Dave

Sorry, but that's what it was. He could've blew up the 440 and put in a 383. Don't forget, it was 10 years old at that time and they were just regular cars back then so who cared. It definitely had a pistol grip and bench seat.
