After searching everywhere for my keys I narrowed the location to the trunk of the polara. Luckily my son was able to squeeze in after removing the rear seat and recover them. Thought I would share some pics of the

adventure and some items I found in the trunk and seats. Getting past the spare tire was a bit challenging. Hope I don’t do that again.

When I was 15 way back in '72 my first bodyshop job the owner on my first day made it clear how to lock a car and open a trunk. He said always lock the car with the key so you know you can unlock it too. And leave the key in the trunk lock until the lid is closed. Those ways have stuck with me my whole life. Of course the new cars all have remotes but when I drive my old stuff I still follow his methods. Glad you were able to get them out!

I didn't know that this is such a "IN" thing to do, or are people generally such idiots when it comes to this??

I gotta say, I own a half dozen newer cars and they all open remotely. I haven't stuck a key in a trunk in years.... until I decided to grab the parts I had stored in the trunk of the polara. I hope to not do that again. My first instinct is to make a trunk key copy, and then never make the same mistake again.

What no spare set of keys? How long have you been driving?

I’ve never driven this car and I’m just glad I even have the keys for it. Funny thing is that I did find a bunch of other mopar keys to vehicles I don’t have while looking. The 65 coronet trunk key was the only one that would fit. I’m gonna look into where I can get extra keys made this week.

Ha. Ouch. I’ve already got beaten up by my wife for this and she’s a former Marine so she can dish it out. I thought this forum would be a safe space to share my failures.
Stubbs is a dick. He ends up on a lot of ignore lists, and treats it as an accomplishment.

Your grade school English teacher would be so ashamed... Have another drink, punch some more drywall, you'll feel better.

You are entitled to your opinion as well as others. You are nothing but a nasty blow hard prick. That is my opinion!
And you have a wonderful day as well! And I also suppose that everyone here only has one house key that's kept in the house in case you get locked out of your house? Same rule applies here!

Thank you I am having wonderful day. Apparently you have never made a mistake. I have made plenty. When someone makes a mistake I Don't rub salt in the wound. This forum brings together people who have a common interest C bodies. So if someone doesn't know something and asks a question I guess there stupid according to you. If I see something where I have an answer I will help out as will 99.9% of the people here. If I see something I don't like I move on instead of degrading someone or their car. This is a great forum full of people who are willing to share knowledge and experience. After all the forum was intended for just that not to judge, criticize and disrespect one another I go by the old saying If I can't say something nice Idon't say nothing at all.

This is a great site full of many great people full of experience and knowledge who are willing to help out. This site was invaluable to me when I restored my sport fury. I have met people on here that I consider good friends. It is a shame that a few people enjoy being jerks They are few and far between 99.9% of members are great. There is nothing worse when you see a member new to the C body world get torn apart by the few and leave After all we all joined this site for our love and preservation of C bodies. I to have thought about leaving after dealing with a few jerks but I am glad I stayed the good far outweighs the bad. We just got to ignore them or stand up to them. They seem to come and go.
