Carlisle 2020 Official Thread

Overall i was pretty impressed with the number of C-Bodies, All things considered it was a good turnout. It was great to hear the Carlisle staff telling some of the E-Body cars they are going to need to move down some more on Saturday to make some more room for C-Bodies. Refreshing after years of having our C-Bodies being parked wherever space is left over at every show.

Was a good day, weather held off which was amazing. Had a good flow of traffic through the tent most of the day.

UGH!

So we got to Carlisle around 6pm, checked into the hotel and went driving around to find a place to eat. When we got back to the hotel smoke was wafting out from under the hood. Turns out the high pressure power steering pump hose sprung a leak. It looks like it's brand-new mind you, must be some cheap China crap :(

Anywho, it seems to only leak when under high pressure so we should be fine to get to the grounds as long as I don't turn the wheel while not moving. Does anybody have a suggestion where we might find one at the show? Otherwise I'll have to just stop at the Autozone and buy a barbed fitting to repair it with

Great days! I need this to be a five day show. Visiting people, meeting people and hanging out with old acquaintances takes up all of your time..
Not much time for swap meet and car corral...

Here is a pano view of the C-body fusie row G211. Missing (edit: hidden behind the main row, in G212) is a ‘73 Newport Navajo whose owner will soon be posting. Missing is a ‘70 Fury ‘vert that was lost among the slabs. And yes, there were more Dodges than Chryslers or Plymouths. A first in my experience.

Yes I have the Navajo and I wish it was parked there instead of my garage. It's killing me not being there this year but couldn't take the chance. After having influenza this last March and April I wasn't going to risk it. I am as healthy as can be and never had a health issue in my life Then the influenza hit. I think I know what covid patients go thru now and feel for them . I am healthy now after a rough road and intend to keep it that way. I will be back next year and can't wait. Everyone enjoy the show and be safe

Actually, I was not referring to your car. I am talking about another Navajo, that a member bought recently and brought to Carlisle yesterday. He will post about the car himself. You can discern the ‘73 2dr Navajo (White roof) right behind my red ‘70 Polara in this photo.

Good to hear you’ve recovered. @Ripinator, Matt and others think that next year will be amazing—so much pent-up demand that hopefully C-bodies get more space than in years past!

There were a couple of especially beautiful slabs — black NYer and dark green Imp — but I did not take pics. The pics that I did take of the ‘69 300s are in a camera that I need to download. Meanwhile, here is a pic of a stunning ‘69 Monaco that made it from Massachusetts. It sounds great, too!

I think so too. Dave, (70bigblockdodge), renewed my spaces for 2021 for me so I'm ready to go.

Hey I’m back and you guys are hilarious and as usual very informative and entertaining! I’m an Albertan from across the border near Edmonton and I’ve been hearing so many references about Carlisle and would sure like to get there next year and meet all of you for handshakes n hugs , lol..... anyhow I’ve been slowly getting geared up to restore my 67 Monaco 500 for years now as I’ve bought lots of parts off of eBay n kijiji etc. my question to you all is, do you think there would be any parts for my car there? I need the wide anodized aluminum body side moldings and a tilt/telescopic steering wheel n column and some interior parts etc!?

Wow, more pics please ... fantastic cars and highway ridin ... who’s the young feller in the 68 Monaco with the ratty vinyl top? ... love it it makes me feel more at home as mine looks the same but worse .... need more parts and then I’m getting it body worked with new quarters and paint n vinyl top etc
