Good luck with your project. Some quality father / son time will come out of it also. Nice garage too.
That was my plan, I want to teach them this stuff as I never had a dad aroubd that did. This is my first time pulling an engine and ripping into it. I still have a lot to learn but the service manual is a godsend.

Some more pictures for you guys. Got the engone completely torn down. From inspection I will need new valves both intake and exhaust, as they were too worn to reuse, valve guides, and seals. Ill be replacing the valve seats with the "unleaded" ones, water pump, oil pump and pick up, 264 cam, plugs wires, timing set, springs, keepers, retainers, all main seals, bearings, piston rings and i think that about it off the top of my head. Enjoy the photos!

Great photos! For your inspiration

Nice, whats all done to it? I forgot to mention ill be putting a set of TTI headers on as my driver side exhaust manifold was cracked and the passenger side exhaust pendulum was frozen 2/3 shut!

Alright guys and gals, some stuff we have been doing on the engine rebuild. We are pretty much doing a budget build on the 318 poly head. A nice engine refresher with all new gaskets, rings, bearings and other small essentials. Cylinder bores and pistons are all within spec so i am reusing all stock piston heads, rods, wrist pins, etc. Since I am using a lot of the original parts I have been a mad man on a cleaning spree! I purchased an ultrasonic machine and put the pistons, rocker arms, springs, bolts, crankshaft caps, and other miscellaneous things in there and man does that work great, I have have also run a die on all the boly threads as well. Since time is an issue for me with running my business I also made a hot tank to dip the block, and intake into and am in the process of doing that right now. So enjoy the pics!
