I believe that the insulation pad is to minimze heat build-up in the intake/carb setup to reduce the possibility of vapor lock or intake charge heating. It doesn't likely have anything to do with noise reduction.

WOW....$39 bucks for some aluminum foil and a chunk of insulation...guess some people have more money then sense.
If you need to find some insulation go to any home construction site and ask if you can grab a piece of insulation from the bin, then use a couple feet of aluminum foil and fold it up....Done!!

Are you serious?????? I deconstructed my original, Nothing special there. Used the old foil as a pattern and with HD foil from the kitchen and construction insulation I made a new one. Cost.... zero $$$$

Although it would seem that it way for heat, but the pad is there for noise reduction.
It was intended for noise, a little bit of heat supression was just an added bonus.

Noise reduction is more plausible than heat reduction. The exhaust cross-over is right there heating things up in the manifold.

The exhaust crossover that some think it is not a good idea to block is waaay more heat than a open area under the intake. With today's gas and ethanol blends you need no additional heat in the intake to vaporize well.

I installed the blocker and removed all the insulation. Runs much better, very little vapor lock on hot days unless it's crazy hot.
Again, some mods just can/need to be done to get the car where it needs to be with today's specs. It sucks to have to modify some aspects of the original design, but your car will be happier.

I ordered mine on the 26th of JULY...called on the 3rd of August
Guess I talked to the owner and I got a long rambling speech about how he had to cut all these decals out and was behind...blah blah blah. He made my request feel unimportant...and he had them in stock ready to ship.
He said he'd mail the pads that day.
I still have not received them. My email went un-answered and the voice mail is full.
Don't know what the issue might be but I'm feeling a bit scammed right now.
Too bad no one else makes these.

Make you're own. No one will ever know the difference as it's tucked under the manifold anyway. Depending on your year, you might even have the plate that goes on top of it like I do.
See the blue overspray? That's all you could see of it when it was installed. So why bother with the repops on something so simple to make.
Go in your attic, grab some insulation (wear gloves) wrap it in tin foil, stuff the pack under the manifold. Done.

B. I don't have time to scour construction sites and scrap piles for foil and fiberglass. Knowing that convenience costs more, I'll be happy to pay. Plus it's safer these days.

Technically... your belly gasket should be engine color if you don't run the insulator.

I'm having the same issue with the 65-66 center console tach sold by Mopar Mall. I ordered it in May... Still nothing.
Not sure of Covid knocked out the guy that makes them, or some other issue. I'm calling today to get my money back.

For what it's worth... Look at what s left of my original pad. That's definitely not worth what they're asking to make one. If was going to replace it, I was going the hand made route, knowing you cant see it or even the fancy stickers on it anyway.
