can i fit 15x8 wheels on this car? I'm only reading mixed reviews

The 67 New Yorker picture with the Magnum 500s has 15x8s with 255/70s on the rear and 15x7s with 225/70s on the front.

The wheels were from Wheel Vintiques and the backspacing is 4.5" on the 7s & 8s. The 8s would would fit with no issues on the front as well. Be aware that some of the early brake calipers may stick out past the bolt surface on the hubs and may not clear some wheels.

Had no issues with the 15x8 with a 4.5" backspacing and a 255/70.

The 275/60 is an inch wider and an inch shorter.

I have 17 x 8" Mustang wheels on mine. I used 225/65R17 tires to keep my spedo accurate. I could have used larger tires but didnt. I did use 1" aluminum adapters front and back to clear hubs.

So I'm considering attempting to swap from column shift to floor shift. What do I need? How difficult is it to find what I need? How difficult a job am I looking at? I have a 727 in the car. Please share some knowledge and experience. Thanks

I've been reading to stay away from Cardone stuff. I've been looking for 72 newport calipers, rotors and a reman master cylinder and booster. Whats a good company to order from cuz Cardone keeps popping up. Is BBB good? Any others?

BBB...I believe is still rebuilt south of the border. I would contact Craig @mobileparts and see if he has any calipers and a master cylinder left.
While most folks here prefer Booster Dewey because he is able to provide the correct coatings, I sent my booster off to Prior Brake down in Texas. I had it back within a week. It works just like it's supposed to. 99% of the few people who get to see the car with the hood up couldn't tell you what color it should be.
I'm also having good luck with a new Dorman master cylinder.

No experience here but if you don't have it, a shop manual would be worth getting with all the wiring diagrams. Gotta think the harness that goes to the backup lamp switch would be longer for a console car. I've had good experience dealing with Murray Park for good used parts.

If you can make your way to a decent swap meet, most of the parts won't be too hard to find because they are the same as '66-'70 B body cars. The console mounting brackets, and at least one of the linkage rods will likely be C-body specific. Some quality time on www.mymopar.com in the parts manual section will tell you exactly what will be the same between B and C.

Ok heres a question for you guys. This is a long way away but I'm just gonna get some ideas from you and try to do some research. Quarter panels? I know they don't make reman for these cars. So where should I be looking? They're rotted from about 8 inches forward of wheel well to the bumper. And about 4 to 6 inches above wheel well ( if I want to hit good, weldable steel). A donor car would be nice but I'm pretty sure I'm screwed in the area I'm in (unless I wanna drive 100s of miles). I love this car and don't want to sell it. I also don't want a bondo buggy. Ideas? Suggestions? What did you do thats cost effective? Thanks!!!!!!

A '67 Newport and any '68 Chrysler could be a donor. If the bad areas forward of the fender skirts don't involve the step in the body line, you could make those pieces and use sections from a 4 door that would cover almost to the front of the skirt.

I have a complete 68 300 Four door hardtop with beautiful quarters and trunk floor. Disc brake car, Buckets. No drivetrain, or gauge cluster/radio. I am Interested in selling the whole car.
PM me if Interested. I am in Omaha.

Any suggestions on a good master cylinder for my disc/drum setup? I have a correct booster coming from Murray Park then sending it off to booster Dewey for the rebuild. Also ordered the pre bent line kit from inline tube. Would like a good MC and proportioning valve to complete the brakes. Don't wanna skimp on the most important part of the car. Thanks guys
