Exterior LED lighting upgrade

Here is a look at LED 6000k headlight technology

The beauty of this upgrade is it works with cars with hideaway headlamp doors....you cannot see the wierd lense pattern when turned off..
They may not look "factory correct" on cars with exposed headlamps.
Speaking of them there headlight upgrades. I did that headlight harness upgrade you turned me on to, BUT needed another upgrade to the relay that controls the headlight doors so that work together.. any other upgrades needed for these type bulbs to work with hideaways?

Here is the scoop on the headlight conversion. The Headlights are made by Stark Lights. The bulbs that came w/ them were inadequate so I upgraded to H4 9003 Led bulbs Rated at 2400 watts. Some mods had to be made to install. Overall costs weren't bad under 55.00 dollars. Ampere draw was measured at 7 amps. I expect the purists to give me a hard time. The performance so far has been pretty good. Much better than stock. With the upcoming Mopars W/ Big Daddy Show in Fla. I needed better lighting at night when driving down. Any questions PM me.

Just thought I'd mention the electronic flasher I found for my cars as Super Bright only lists resistors for some cars. Why I don't know so I bought this based on Daniel Stern's recommendation. I has a second base included to reverse polarity without you having to fool around with it. Can't see it but does have the ground wire.

This is pretty good. Honestly, id take better visibility anytime over the stock look. I just put in a conversion with 9007 bulbs but no led yet. I only bought the low beams for now because I wanted to see how they perform first. Little "weird" with the clear lens but does not look too bad. Probably gonna do an led conversion all around too!

Well Mr. @cbarge you inspire me once again! Look what arrived on my doorstep today:

I plan on upgrading all the bulbs in the rear harness as well as the two amber signal lights up front. Got the polarity specific ground wire flasher relay too. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!

I’ll try and post some before and after pics.

Thank you again for inspiring this project.

Superbrightleds offers red, amber, cool 6200k and natural 4000k bulbs for taillights.
I just wonder what is the diffenence in appearance?
Which one is brighter or what influence does it have on the color of the taillight?

Just to add I've had good results from these LEDs and flasher.
Grounded flasher - had to switch the spade pins in the factory connector. The flasher in the posts before this has the reversing polarity base which is cool and I never new existed. And got a second one for the hazards/flasher.
And these for the bulbs - 1157 in red for the tail lights, 1156 in amber for the front dims and 1156 in white for the rear reverse. Of course when replacing them I found crud and rust (especially fronts) so reconditioned the housings. New coat of silver for the rear brake light housing. I'm sure that helped

They all work well. Not really any bright or dim areas. Much better than stock and better than other LEDs that I got awhile ago. . These particular LEDs, although looking like a lot of others, seem to be a better quality. I didn't have the special flasher at first and they all worked. Then changed the steering wheel turn signal switch and for some reason hat triggered the need for the grounded flasher. New flasher with no ground did NOT work. Kinda strange that they worked in the first place.

cbarge, When you did this conversion, did you include the fender mount signal lights? Do they make LED replacements for those bulbs too? I know that those can be a PITA to swap.

Not 100% positive but I think the turn signals get a 330 bulb...for a 69 fury at least. We will find out cuz thats what I got. I bought this LED version. Not installed yet.
