Mopar Electronic Vehicle Tracking System$995.00
Wheel Locks$295.00
Tint$495.00
Nitrogen$115.00
Resistol$695.00

this is what you get in DFW from any metroplex ram dealer. all this crap. they said its all dealer installed options. none of it is on the sticker. i told them remove it all and they looked at me like i was from another solar system.

i said look, the first place im going is the window tint shop. the next place im going is the wheel shop. so there goes my tint and nitrogen in like 30 minutes after i leave here.

im paying cash full price, so no need to track me. and i got full coverage insurance i dont want it back if it gets stolen.

and resistol is the new name for scotchguard i guess. resistol hats should sue the piss out of them

That's $2,595 in high profit bs items. :wtf:

Nitrogen filled tires

Turn them into the BBB for price gouging. Nitrogen is free at Costco with new tires.

i tried all damn day to catch a new years eve sale. im a guaranteed tally mark on someones sale board. im comin out of a ram into another ram i dont even need a test drive. i had a plain envelope full of cash in my hand.
the truck was 42.5 internet and when i got there it was 48 because of all that crap ^^.
biggest bunch of shite ive seeen in a while. they are straight up lying on their website.
none of that crap is listed on the sticker and the ad its buried under a line item.
only when you get there.

rockwall dodge. avoid avoid.

Dave and I got pretty good deals on our Ram's at Cook Dodge in Aberdeen, Maryland. And the first 5 synthetic oil changes are free. I'm sure Dave didn't drive back from Jersey for the oil changes.

Join "Costco" and/or someone who has a membership to check on their vehicle purchase program. Compare to you best price and see if it is worth joining.

You need to find another dealer. A lot of them are installing these aftermarket goodies to bump their profit. And anyone who is not informed will pay thru the nose for these add-ons. The work a round is to order the truck you want without any options you do not want and note in the contract that dealer installed options are not allowed. Scotch-guard is about $22.50 for two spray cans and it takes about two to do the average interior. Nitrogen is cheap, it does make the tires more stable and they are supposed to run cooler with it installed. My luck on all OEM tires is that they are crap to start with and it won't help to add Nitrogen or anything else. My new 2004 pickup blew out two tires under under 10k before I tossed the remaining two. I do not ever use add on laminates, if you want tint, order tint. If I may quote, "Try not to die".

And if you are a paranoid old s.o.b like me, the tracking for theft also tracks you in real time.

I feel good about the deal. The price was still over the top. I know you know

Having been in a dealership for over 44 years, I know a high-margin deal when I see one. All of what's listed might put about $750.00 directly into the salesperson's pocket. Where's that Extended Warranty?

Go into the Dodge.com website and build your truck. Then check the online inventory listings of who's got what within a certain distance from Dallas, then go for it. Don't mention "paying cash" until you get to the pay for it point. Let the F&I person give you the options of paying, THEN pull out your envelope.

One of the deals about nitrogen is that when the weather gets cold, if the tires were inflated in warmer times, with nitrogen the inflation pressure will not change that much when the weather turns colder, which without nitrogen-fill can turn on the "Low Tire Pressure" warning light. A big convenience item for some customers.

When we had the Nissan store, the cars that were received and sold in the summer tended to appear in the service drive in the fall, with the low tire pressure message in the driver information center. Cars received/sold in the colder months didn't have that issue.

FIND ANOTHER DEALER, not the closest or easiest one to get to. Should be lots of end-of-year deals out there.

Happy New Year,

I worked at a Lexus dealer as a "sales consultant" for the last 12 years before I retired from that business ( for most of my life I was an illustrator ). The dealer I worked in had some cars with a bunch of dealer installed items but they put a window sticker showing what was added. They would either remove them or get the customer a vehicle without them. There are too many car dealers around to have to put up with any nonsense they try to pull.

I learned a lot about purchasing new vehicles from an "expert that will remain unnamed on this forum".

As soon as you ask to see the dealer invoice they know you know what your talking about. I will offer $500 over invoice. I actually got my Redeye at dealer cost. I was going to offer $500 over invoice but he said to give him a day to work on the price. I'm glad I didn't make an offer. He called me the next day and offered the car to me at dealer cost plus $1. I took a train up to Massachusetts and drove the Redeye home.

No money changed hands, no price gouging took place. No Governor's emergency declaration in place, either.

IF a transaction had happened, it would have been considered "consensual", at the time. Just like paying more for something at a convenience store than at WalMart (or similar).

Back when a used (from the rental car fleets, or from the dealer auctions, as "executive cars") PT Cruisers were available, I saw some of those advertised for MSRP, but were "used cars". Some purchasers of NEW ones felt they were being gouged for paying MSRP + Availability Charge . . . a few months later when the supply increased and pricing decreased. They felt they'd been "gouged" on the price, BUT they paid that price because they wanted one then, not later.

Granted, it seems that our TX AG needs more to occupy his time rather than filing lawsuits which will fail.

Just some thoughts,
