Dennis. That's his name.

Last few weeks have been busy with doing some other stuff, but, today is the 6th anniversary of bringing home this golden nightmare and honestly in hindsight, I'd still do it all again, just maybe in a different order, but truthfully, this car has taught me a ton, to the point that I'm now in a much better position to restore my other Mopar's.

Side note, I still have that coat, hat, and sweater, and I still wear all of them...

My friend Al is currently restoring a 1972 Fury I PK41, and has the front clip off his car, so before I got carried away with continuing, I asked him to do me a favor and measure his car which is as it left the factory, his measurement was 44.5"

I'm very happy that I somehow pulled this off.

This is why I didn't finish my white Polara. I don't have the patience, hurry up will ya:lol:
I have been in this stage of a resto where Nick is. Not easy especially being out of work.
It took me 12 years to finish my car. Mike66Chryslers took even longer on his beautifull 66 Windsor. Ross...still working on his 66 440 4 speed Monaco.
Good things come out to those who wait, LOL!
I visited Nick and saw his Dennis couple times prior to Covid.
Young lad has skill and talent..so dont rush him.
The finished product will blow you away!

Just think for a second here.

By the time Nick gets this car done, it might be worth what he has invested into it

seriously Nick, looking good

I know man I know. I've been watching since the inception of project. I applaud your work and efforts.
Stan and I may be dead by the time you're done.
I can't take it ....

Not sure what that means . I'm excited for the kid to get her done. It's been a long long time.

As Leaburn mentioned since December 21st I 've been self employed and it's had its up and downs, but I'm starting to get ahead of it.

I have been working part time for my friends bodyshop, learning quite a bit in the process. He specializes in classic and hotrod stuff. So lots of sheet metal work.

I'm currently in the process of setting myself up with a job that will guarantee me 35 years of work, plus a pension at the end.

In the meantime I've been picking up jobs to do at home. I just sent home a friend's 1976 Aspen which I did quite a bit of work too. I have a 99 jeep that's my current nightmare, a 518 to rebuild next week and a 64 Acadian coming down the end of next week for complete floor pans and a trunk floor.

The cash from all of this is getting banked so that I can make the final push on Dennis. As everyone knows, the final steps of the restoration always seem to be the most costly. So I want to be prepared so that I don't have to stop.

I bought a rotisserie last fall for a steal and over the last few days have decided to put Dennis on it after I finish the firewall so that I can strip, clean, prime and paint my floor pans properly.

Once the firewall and floors are done, it's all down hill from there

I would highly recommend any new-er members to read all of Nicks posts on Dennis.
I had seen Nick and the car several times and the fabrication skills he has the pics just dont do justice.
Other 4dr sedans in better shape would have been scrapped.

Hi Nick. Glad to see you posting again. I'm guessing that life tends to get in the way of fun things sometimes.
Now instead of a couple projects he has about a dozen. :poke:

I don't know anyone who works harder in their "free" time.
