    Putting a 65 cable shifter/console in my 68 Chrysler with standard 727

I got it to work, but getting the shift mechanism to click into reverse is a bit tricky. I may have to notch out a bit of metal on tooth of the shifter selection plate.

Fel-Pro cork Valve cover gaskets SUCK!

Reply to my own post from 2019. Put on the Real Gaskets from Tennessee. Over 5 years no leaks. However the hipo exhaust manifolds did a number on the paint on the valve covers. May have to take them off for a touch up. I'm very intrigued by the exhaust gasket mentioned. Have it in my RockAuto...

Tilt tele steering column hep needed.

What is the size of spline on the rag joint. I need to remove the rag joint for space consideration. Hitting the flange of the hi po manifold. Would like to buy a borgeson coupler. Or something like it rather than just cutting up a perfectly good rag joint. Mine specs out at .720" ??? Is that...

if you want to retain the tele function you may need to have the wheel machined to fit the column.

help with removing chrome trim on vinyl roof. '68 fastback 300

I am going to be removing my vinyl top and addressing some minor rust issues under it. How does the chrome trim attach at the bottom of the vinyl? Also the threehundred emblems on the b pillar? Thanks!

    Putting a 65 cable shifter/console in my 68 Chrysler with standard 727

Has anyone done this already? I picked up a complete '65 Fury console with shifter at a swap meet. The '65 trans was shifted internally and had a separate shifter cable just for park. Wondering if I can use the shifter with a single B&M shift cable on my later model linkage shift 727.

Nice single malt but supply is limited

Love Balvenie! Wish I were there. Will it get you drunk enough to forget the price? Good, then give it to my wife while I go buy another car.

    1968 440 carb spacer (wood)

I use a thick gasket from Edelbrock. You have to use longer carb studs. I've even seen a buddy with the F brand of car use a thin aluminum heat shield that extended past the float bowls. Running a bit richer, and retarding the timing will help cool things down.

I sealed mine with a new o-ring and some Mopar atf sealant. That stuff is killer.

Fel-Pro cork Valve cover gaskets SUCK!

I will check the dipstick. But I doubt it. My pcv valve is new as well. My oil pan is almost as leaky as my valve covers. I torqued the bolts, a week later all bolts loose as the gasket shrinks or crushes. Torqued again, loose just three days later. The leaks are getting smaller but geez how...

Done & done. Let's see how these work. I like that they say they're reusable. That's confidence.

    Advancing the cam timing

Thanks guys, I'm pulling a small vintage camper with my '68 300, and I think that advancing will be in my best interests. I put a new Comp Cam with .470 lift and 262 dur 21-222-4(Single Bolt) - Xtreme Energy™ Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts I also have a bag of comp cams degree offset...
