I hope you enjoy your time on the Cape! Should be nice there, not so crowded now that school is in session. I'm in Southern New Hampshire, but I have to work all week. Would have liked to have met you, I always enjoy your posts. Would have loved to buy the 67 Crown Coupe you sold earlier this year, but too much going on here. Have a great time in New England!!

Friends live in Eastham and we’re going to Falmouth for a couple of days midweek.
When I saw the Plymouth Rock as an adult, I was kind of under whelmed. All the hype from grade school completely went away.
I was on Cape Cod about 10 years ago. We toured the cape, ate some great sea food and pretty much had a good time. Mrs. Big John suggested that we head up to Providencetown on the tip of the cape.
So... I'd never been there, didn't really know anything about Providencetown either. (@commando1 and @Ironwolf probably chuckling now) Parked the car and started walking. A couple blocks of walking and I noticed three women walking towards us. One had a really short skirt and they really seemed to be a little over dressed. As they got closer, I noticed a little too much makeup and that one in the short skirt didn't have the legs for it. The closer we got, the uglier they got. We were a few feet away and I heard one say in what could be described as a truck driver's cigarette voice, "Let's go get a beer over there". Then I realized they weren't women at all.
So... Mrs. Big John let me in on what was up.... As we walked up, there were a number of gay couples... No big deal to me, but I just wasn't expecting it.
Anyway... Lot's of nice shops there and we had a great meal at the Lobster Pot. I'd go back.

OH, I didn't say he was wrong. I had such a great life in NJ especially in the '60s and '70s. The '80s started the downward spiral, and now it is out of control. I have stayed due to the fact that so much of my family is still here. That IS ALL that keeps us here.

aaaYep they do their best to brainwash ya up'dar. Funny I used to have a customer in Massachusetts with the surname Columbus of Hispanic decent, you couldn't convince him anyway that it wasn't the Spanish that discovered America.

No offense taken, for the last 20 plus years when I am traveling,people ask where I am from, I say NJ, nobody ever responds with "wow", "great", "wish I could live there". I was actually told once when I was at the Grand Canyon "Oh you live in the armpit of the country". Nice, but sometimes family and where you earn a living prevent the change you want. But NJ is the #1 exit state in the country. For the last several years more people move out than into the state.
