Ashes to ashes dust to dust?
So you guys would drag it under rather than pass it on to the next caretaker?

Here is his answer to me about the tombstone
Ya right? Much to my surprise, my wife sprung this on me awhile back. It took me awhile to wrap my head around it though..
Something hugely morbid about buying the tombstone before you die.
**** the stone. Cremate me and dump me in the nearest river.

A lot of people do that. Salesmen talk them into making arrangements so their family won’t have to. Years ago, I remember a lot of people buying plots in the local cemetery.

No it's not. We did it on our own so we could put what we wanted on it. We're pretty much all set, they should have it set up by the end of summer.
Long winded but I had to say it

The whole story of a car that was a ladies life can be found in this thread. She had her headstone done before her passing. She needed to see the stone before she moved on. View attachment 364940

Apparently, none of you had seen my post earlier...

Back in the summer we bought our "plot" in our church's cemetery just outside of town. Since its up on one of the highest point in town, you can see our house, which is even higher, from there and vice-versa. We then picked out our monument, a beautiful polished black marble one that will be etched with a beautiful view of the valley as seen from our house, and the cemetery is in the distance! The folks said we can put whatever we want on it, so on the back we came up with this.

When I cark it, I'd like the Imperial eagle on my headstone.

Maybe she's got something up her sleeve...

One of my senior motorcycle friends has a space and motorcycle on his headstone but he did it after his wife past so... I can see having the design on file with the monument company and buying the plots in advance, but setting up the headstone before anyone is in the ground?

The last thing I want for what’s left of me after I move on is to be buried.

My Dad said he was a little weirded out having his name on there for 19 years. I have told my son repeatedly if they make you come pick me up just chuck the box in the dumpster on your way back to the car.
