if you are running points make sure they are clean and flat faced with a proper gap.

Got it running last night. Had to redo drivers side valve cover after seeing the small puddle. Put new wires on, and had the Distributor 180 off ( rookie mistake ). Horn still won’t keep blowing. I tried seeing if a wire was disconnected under dash or pinched. There was a blue wire not connected coming from the side panel. I plugged it into an open slot in the fuse box. I think this was a mistake as the car wouldn’t shut off after removing the key.... First time outside in many years.

Joe looks awesome have you & your son taken it on the road yet for a ride.
. Just drove it around the driveway. I’m dialing in the idle and timing and then off to get an inspection before we get to cruise. Can’t wait. It sounds great too. I’ll post a short video soon.

Next time we are out cruising we will have to stop by and see it in person. We were out yesterday took a 65 mile cruise from Bridgeville out RT 50 to Hickory to RT 18 to Burgettstown to RT 22 to Oakdale then back through Bridgeville then home. The wagon is such a pleasure to drive since i had the rearend gone through and the new tires. I had the valve adjusted on the steering box now the car dosen't wander on the highway and is tight with now play in the steering.

Stop over anytime. I saw your post on the steering adjustment. I'm glad you were able to get that adjusted.

I'm still working on tuning the engine. Running through the procedures to adjust idle, carb, timing. The FSM spec on idle being adjusted at 500 rpm seems too low so I'm adjusting closer to 700 rpm. It's still smoking a bit from burning off old oil from the manifolds. It'll be nice when I have that all cleaned up. I still have to do an alignment and then I'll take it to a shop for an inspection. Can't wait to try it out on the road.

Short video driving around the driveway. Still need to dial in the carb/timing, but it starts right up now.

First drive today. Went to get it inspected. They couldn’t remove the right rear drum. Didn’t even try to back the adjuster out until I went over. That wheel always stuck a bit on me too. Gonna have to address that somehow. Washer bottle didn’t work.. forgot to check that. And they failed it for the holes in the rear wheel well. I knew this was rusted but I didn’t think it was a problem for inspection. I guess I got some things to do before I can drive it. :(.

That's a sweet looking car! PA is a mother for perfection, huh? Get that fixed and go rack up those miles!

You could get “Antique Vehicle” plates for it. No inspection and you only have to pay $75 for registration and never have to renew it.

I'd go that route in a heartbeat. I do that with all my vehicles.

That’s what i did too. I still inspect the brakes and safety equipment at least annually, but I don’t have to pay for an inspection sticker or have some a-hole inspection station get ticky-tack with **** like a small hole in my wheel housing.

I found another shop that won't ding me for the holes in the wheel well. That being said I think I'll run down and grab some antique plates and not worry about taking it back to finalize inspection. I do want to get those holes fixed properly though and I don't want to just throw some body filler in the holes like the shop suggested. What are these seems supposed to look like? Did the original inner wheel wells just end in a seem at the inner lip of the outer wheel well? I'm going to get some estimates done, but I do want to drive it the next few months while getting on a waiting list for repairs. I do have some fumes coming in the car when not moving, and maybe this is the culprit? @Two 67's where is your shop located? I also got the alignment done, but with the wheel now off-centered to the left, and them not setting the camber and toe to my specs I'd rather have it looked over by someone that knows what they are doing.
