    Locked keys in the trunk

First thing I do for all of my cars is several sets of spare keys. I usually take an extra set with me — but still have one set at home just in case I really screw up. So far so good (hope I don’t jinx it) — but keeping a spare trunk key in a hidden (yet accessible) location is a good idea...

SOLD 1965 Fury Trunk lock assy. w/key

You can open your trunk from the inside by removing the back seat and crawling through. Or call a locksmith to pick it ($$). Once open, you can remove the lock cylinder and take it to a competant locksmith and they'll be able to cut you a key that fits. Alternatively, if you know your glove...

    Keys and key codes

Key codes for vehicles built prior to the 1980s are something of a lost cause. The codes would have been on the vehicle's documents received by the "ship to" dealership, which would have been immediately put in a file at the dealership. There usually was a small metal tag with the code on it...

NOT MINE 1972 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe - $9,150 - Chesterfield, Virginia

Since it's back again, I'll recap what I told before about it. I looked at this car in person when it was for sale in New Mexico. It's about as solid of a car that you'll find, with absolutely no rust in all the usual places. The issue is all the dents. They are difficult to see in the...

Too many keys!! What do I do?

Thanks for the super fast replies! Ok, I'll wait and see what he chimes in with. I'd like to avoid tearing apart my door panels, by the looks of the keys, those are original. The trunk is as well. If I can get the ignition and glove box/console rekeyed to the matching originals I'd be really...

The Parts Car '66 Monaco 500

Here's what I got to be a parts car, that's probably not going to happen. This car is very solid, coming out of the Seattle area. The plates that came with it look to have been issued in 2001, and last registered in 2004 or 2005, it's been off the road for a long time. Pictures from the ad...

    66 Sport Fury-From The Beginning

After 6 hours of driving I'm happy to report that we pulled the trigger on the red parts car. Condition Rough!!! When you set in the rear seat you can rest your feet on the ground. Vert top rotted off and the car is full of leaves (except in front of the seats-see above haha). Seats will do...

Too many keys!! What do I do?

When I installed the console in my car, I took the tumbler to a locksmith along with my trunk key and they re-keyed it for me. @James Romano if someone replaced your ignition switch, they should have swapped the original tumbler unit into the replacement switch. It is easy to do once you have...

Man found in car trunk at auto auction

2 friends of mine got in the drive-in free, I drove in alone. They started making comments about my being there alone, those stopped when I started driving over the banked parking spaces at 50 mph. I let them out a short time later and gave my friend his father's keys back. It was a 73 Impala...

hello everyone. I am a rookie at posting stuff, so please bear with me as i learn how to do this. I also want to hurry and spill all of my questions, ask for parts, ask for tips, but understand that if I spend some time reading on this site, the info is probably on here already. From the...

    Mopar key question

From the factory for 1968 the ignition key fits the door locks. Trunk fits the glovebox. I am guessing someone replaced the ignition switch with a key included. No locksmith needed. You can get complete kits on e bay. Ignition/door keys on the left, trunk glovebox in the right. Pic is just a...

Too many keys!! What do I do?

. I agree with this approach as well. All the locks work, they just don't share the same key. Both doors on one, the ingition on another, trunk on another, glove box another and console another.. So five working keys total. I'll look in my area for a good locksmith and see what happens
