    HVAC question

Do I need to remove the glovebox or anything? Or it can be done entirely without removing parts? I guess that’s what I’m trying to ask. I don’t want to unnecessarily remove parts

    HVAC question

My 1973 Newport has a small issue. I’m planning on getting the AC back online but it seems that my temperature adjustment cable isn’t connected to my lever inside the car. I’m not sure if it’s broken or not. There is no drag on the lever which tells me it’s not connected somehow. Is there a...

    Cruise Control limits

When I drove Loretta (1973 Newport w/Navajo package) to DC and back a few weeks ago. I couldn’t set the cruise at any speed above 70. Is this something they did back in the days or is something wrong with the system?

    How crazy am I?

Got a couple more pics to share. First one is filling up at sheetz for the last leg of the journey. Second picture is the entire contents of a dorm room crammed in the trunk. No one believed me when I said “oh all of that can fit in the trunk”. They were flabbergasted.

    How crazy am I?

Thank you! So I looked at the mileage. It was 900 miles. Thank god I put in an aluminum radiator because leaving the university, I was stuck in a massive gridlock that took me 45 minutes to get out and that was a lot of sitting and idling. Never once got hot. If I had the factory radiator, I...

    How crazy am I?

I mean, it has an upgraded radiator, external transmission cooler, transmission fluid changed, rear end fluid changed. The only thing that will suck is the gas mileage. I’m curious, does anyone know what rpm it turns going 70 since there’s no tach

    How crazy am I?

Or more aptly, is it a stupid idea? I’m considering taking my 73 Newport from Lancaster Ohio to Washington DC to pick up my bud from college and drive back.

    New wheels on 73 Newport

I wouldn’t say they’re supremes but they’re a cheap version of them. Here’s the stock number. I got it from Jegs. The tires were already on it when I bought the car. I think it was Milestars. Model of the tire, no idea. Once the tires were mounted on the new wheels, the tires looked so much...

    New wheels on 73 Newport

Got new wheels installed. I enjoyed the original hubcaps but I prefer open faced wheels because I do put about 100 miles a day on the car commuting on nice days and sometimes that involves a lot of braking. With the closed design of the steel wheel and hubcaps, the brakes becomes soft from heat...

    1973 Newport Radiator

I need to replace my radiator. I’ve been looking. The radiator I have has the inlet and outlet on the passenger side. All the radiators I’ve been searching has either one on opposite sides. Is this radiator a weird one? I was planning on getting a radiator with a passenger outlet and a driver...

Poverty dishes or dog caps or whatever they are called

Relax people. The hubcaps aren’t being discarded or replaced. I just wanted to refinish the steel wheels that is underneath the hubcaps then I thought it would be fun to try dog dishes or poverty caps to see what it looked like

Poverty dishes or dog caps or whatever they are called

My 1973 Newport has the stock 15” steel wheels with the factory hubcaps. I wanted to have some fun this spring by painting the steel wheels the same color as the body and stick some dog disges on them. My question is: is there a specific wheel or dog dishes will work on any steel wheels?

    1973 400 questions

that’s okay. I’m looking mostly for things I can easily bolt on or remove to help unlock any power. I would rather leave the pistons and all the spinning whirly parts alone.
