Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

I am a big fan of the new Eddy AVS2 carbs. I have used them on 3 different applications and have been happy with them. Look for the 1906 Eddy and make sure to grab the Mopar Kickdown adapter 1481 I think

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

Definitely going to swap out the LB carb and see if it helps. Larry had to replace the alternator for a second time after he left my place. Took two more “reman” alternators to finally get one that worked. So strange theory would a low voltage affect the operation of the ELB? Our modern cars are...

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

Now this makes sense to me. It is a new distributor that was added when the LB was deleted recently. I will check that and get back to all

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

So true Bob and on my cars this is what I always do as I hate TQ’s but Larry would like to keep it stock if possible

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

This has been considered. Thinking of running a non LB TQ as Larry is trying to maintain originality so my usual swap to a AVS2 is not in the cards

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

The garage that installed the electronic ignition ran the vacuum advance off a tee to the vacuum canister I checked and no vacuum at idle but full vacuum as throttle increases so yes its ported I considered switching to manifold vacuum

Age old question - Fuel or Spark?

So had a nice visit from Larry and his 77 NYB today. He was having issues with low speed drive ability and rough idle/miss stopped in drive. So i checked the usual timing/vacuum etc adjusted the idle speed up a bit from 675 to 770rpm in park blah blah blah. So here is what I found on test...

That’s what I said. It has some kinda park brake setting that releases the park brake when you put it in reverse. It is quite the contraption on the drivers rear drum. I’ve never encountered it before. Oh and the ATC II doesn’t work of course

    Lftovrs 77 NYB visited today

My good friend Larry @Lftovrs dropped off his 77 NYB today for us to do the provincial inspection. Beautiful survivor car but has me stumped on a couple things… The brake pedal has a trailer brake addition to it. How does this work? Also has auto park brake I have never seen one so any info...

    1979 MAGNUM GT

Believe me it is not an easy thing to do in the car. I replaced the cam in my 79 300 last year. Take the whole assembly out of the car and put it on a table where you can massage all the parts together. I contacted Murray several times for his replacement parts but got no answer so ended up...

The infamous 4-spd 76 New Yorker. Ask me anything.

For those of us lucky enough to enjoy Stan and Pamela’s hospitality in person I highly recommend it. Fuhoa is a destination I dream of visiting in the near future once this bloody virus is gone.

Besides the first guy you sold it to have you been contacted by any future owners as to its history or to question your sanity?

    Calling anyone in Alberta

We don’t have a title system in Alberta a car can pass through a million hands between having registrered plates on it. We just have Bills of Sale so that may be a consideration.
