I use www.hotrod.com to get to the MOTORTREND webpage. Under the normal coverage of their Power Tour events, a few notches below is the "75 Years of Hot Rod" section. In that section is the cross-country drive that Ray Brock and another editor did on a new, right off the assembly line, 1958 Fury. They had requested a car with no power eaquipment and that is what they got. A 1958 Fury 2dr hardtop, with the standard 350 2x4 B-engine, a three-speed manual transmission, and the matching 3.73 rear axle with SureGrip.

After their trip, the car then went to the drag strip. The article covers many aspects of the vehicle body and chassis, plus many aspects of the then-new "B" engine family.

A very good article by two of HOT ROD's legendary editors.

Enjoy!
