1966 chrysler 300 / 383 sudden oil pressure loss

Mainly because I'd rather ask the opinions of others who may have bought some, ran them, and deemed them to be good.
Why do you need an opinion on stock rockers, they've been bullet proof since day one? Why, do you want to upgrade them to something else? You didn't say so and I'm not a mind reader! If you do, you're going to have to change push rods too. The only time you need to change is if you change cams that recommend using adjustable rockers.
That rocker must have been dropped a couple times to put a stress crack in it for it to fail like that. Nice try on the wife and dog thing, but you're wrong!

Well I found the problem. I want to replace them all. Wheres a good place to buy a set from that won't break the bank...View attachment 573333View attachment 573332View attachment 573331

I have never seen one fail like that. Usually the pushrod pokes a nice little hole in the arm.

I would look at the valve and spring for that cylinder just to be safe. Make sure the valve isn't hung up.

IMHO, replacements probably won't be as good or strong as your used originals. If the spots where they contact the valve tip look good, I'd just replace the one bad rocker (again, check the valve) and toss the old ones back on.

Best thing to do is to use the "ignore" member feature. Makes things much easier.

And the majority of the results on that search are hot-rod-aluminum-needle-bearing-ductile-iron adjustables-higher-ratio things he isn't looking for.
And an ebay link that will take him to all those things on ebay.
Or links to webforum results of people asking where to buy and install such things he isn't looking for.

@Bryon Mason
Rock Auto has some, made by Melling, but kinda pricey when you consider needing 16 total.
Does not say where made, but Melling has always been a good name in engine parts (Unless things have changed?)
When it comes to Left/Right - that refers to the offset of the pushrod pocket, not left/right side of engine. (but you'd buy a whole set, so not an issue)

What part(s) of what I said do you disagree with @Stubbs?

FWIW, I've got a set here that has a worn patch where it rides on the valve stem. Perhaps .010" deep.
Yes, it's not failed, but it's also hidden, and one wouldn't know about such wear unless they took them off for some reason.

She's back in business, thanks to those that were helpful with their advice.
