Does anyone have a parts list to build a front disc "kit" from compatible MOPARS for a 1966 Imp? Drums are getting scarce or VERY expensive, and I'm making contingency plans.

The closest thing are the disc brakes from 67-73, but they are not any cheaper due to the bolt pattern (5X5), which is a bit too small to match the 55-66 Imps (5X5.5). That said they are not a practical replacement. I doubt that any company such as Scarebird does make disc brake sets for an Imperial because they would be very sparsely demanded.

I'm surprised you can find anything now days! I had the same problem with my 66-300 over 15 years ago and said, screw it! I upgraded with the SSBC set up as I wanted to keep the original 14" and the spinner caps. Otherwise whatever other set up you go with, you will probably have to upgrade to 15" wheels. I didn't want to change spindles and all the other work that goes into it. It's a simple bolt on, just need to change the Master cylinder and a couple of brake lines to make it work. Good Luck

Thanks for the input. The Imp does have 15 inch, at least 65-66.

Imperials fom 55-56 and 60-75 have 15" wheels, if I recall it correctly.

This is uncharted waters for me as I don't know what came with what? I do know 66 Chryslers with disc had to have 15"ers, I can't speak for anything else but would assume that the same rules apply in later years? Good Luck

To 68 the 15" wheels were optional or required with disc brakes on C-bodies other than Imperials and they become standard in 69.
