replacing the bondo styled section, with a steel panel

short information: the front fender from a 67 and a 68 fury are looking similar,
but they have another mounting brackets for the headlight-bezels, and the front lower
section is also different.

Hand formed panels the old craftsman style way.
Beating a panel into a form is a skill long forgot.
I'm sitting here absolutely in awe.

Looks like a heat resistant material to prevent warping. Or at least that's what we used back in the day.
 
the "blogs" are an especially paste for heat transfer, to get the panels straight onto the body.
i applied this at each welding area.
 
To be fair this is a post about his resto not about the good and evils of a mineral. If in fact thats whst its made from.

There is real quality work going into this car, its amazing how these cars are valued so much overseas and yet you can have a similar car in the states that needs a fraction of the rust work done and its considered salvage yard material.
